Re: Minimum GATE Score required for admission in IIT for M.Tech ECE? for getting admission in iits for M.TECH you need to have 99+ percentile in GATE EXAM. that means your score in gate in ece branch should be 55-60 marks out of 100 marks for iit. -with 98 percentile you can get admission in NIT (NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY) which are also a reputed colleges of india. - with 95 percentile you can get admission in some private colleges like- - vit(vellore institute of technology) - bits pilani - dc |

Dear friend, GATE, (The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all -India Examination conducted by the six Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. If candidate gets Gate score 96 percentile or more then he can try for IITs, if between 85 - 96 percentile, then he can apply for top RECs, JADAVPUR, SHIBPUR, ROORKEE, etc. If less than 85, he has to look for appropriate institutes. Candidates who get less than 70 percentile get no score card. All the best. |

But this year most probably you've to score minimum around 45-50 marks to get admitted in IITs. And also what was the speculations last year that, if you're getting above 95 percentile then only there is the chance to be in IIT in your stream i.e. ECE. |

To get into IIT's it depends on Reservation you have. approximately: OBC/Others more than 750 SC/ST more than 650 the above scores are applicable for all IIT's There are so many specializations in M.Tech like VLSI Power Systems Embedded Systems Sensors Network Applications and etc... All the best for IIT's if it is not possible then choose AMRITA University. It provides all the above courses and many more,study in AMRITA is well. To get admission in IIT for MTech in ECE, you have to secure marks above then 95 percentile. Now i want to explain about percentile.In gate exam the marks of top ranker is made scale for judging the marks of other candidate, Mathematically you can say that Percentile= (your marks obtained in the GATE multiply by100 )/ Marks of top ranker in the GATE. good luck |

You have to get all India rank below 500 and its so difficult as you know So work hard and achieve your goal!!
