Here is the complete procedure that you should follow to become IPS officer. First you have to complete your Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. And then you have to crack the following selection procedure CSAT Exam Civil Services Main Exam Interview In CSAT exam, you should have questions from the following categories Aptitude Current Affairs General English But for Main Exam, the questions will be upon the optional subject that you are going to opt for. So, I suggest you to opt for the Graduation in accordance with the stream that you have gone through in your 10+2 and complete it successfully. Have good preparation for the CSAT Exam and Main Exam right from the beginning of your Graduation and apply for it as and when you complete your Graduation. You should be a citizen of India to apply for this Exam. Your age should be between 21-30 years to apply for this Exam. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category. Prepare well by collecting top study material and practicing model question papers and previous year question papers. Wish you all the best. |

After passing graduation with any course you have to qualify the civil services entrance exam. Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year. U.P.S.C conduct this exam form many post like:- > Indian Administrative Services > Indian Police Services > Indian Foreign Services > Indian Revenue Services etc Age limit:- Age limit for Civil Services exam is 21-30 year. Either you may apply for police force of a particular state or may apply for Indian Police Service on national level. Sine you are not a graduate yet, you won't be eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector or Sub Inspector in the police force of your state and neither you are eligible to apply for the Indian Police Service. So, if you want to join the police department as an officer, you need to complete your graduation, in any discipline. State level examination for recruitment of state police force is conducted by the public service commission of that particular state, whereas, recruitment of candidates in the Indian Police Service, also known as IPS is done through civil service examination conducted by union public service commission. So the vary first Option for you to complete your Graduation degree course and then you are eligible for Civil services examination because after completing your 12Th examination you cant eligible for Civil services. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. Apart from this the candidate applying for IPS should have possessed certain prescribed Physical standard. Indian Public service exam is conducted by UPSC every year once.This exam is part Civil Service exam.And IPS is conducted to take skilled Police officer's to the different department in the Public sector as Police. Eligibility criteria for IPS Exam: Candidate should have completed graduation degree course with any stream from a recognized university. Age should be between 21 to 30 years for general category,21 to 33 years for obc category,21 to 35 years for sc/st category candidates. Special Physical Requirements for IPS As mentioned earlier candidates appearing for the personality test on clearing the civil services mains exam have to meet certain physical requirements to be eligible for IPS. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years. 4.Candidate must be physically fit.. So, you have to first complete graduation , after that you can apply for IPS exam.. All the best. |

To appear for the exam you need to satisfy certain requirements namely as follows. 1.A bachelor degree in any stream .The degree can be a three or four year course. 2.The age limit for appearing in the exam is maximum of 30 for a general category the relation for the aspirant of OBC category is 33.The upper limit for SC/ST aspirant is 35. so you need to do a bachelor course after which you will be satisfying the requirement. The selection process for the exam includes 1.written exam 2.physical test 3.personnel interview The written includes aptitude and optional papers which you can choose based on your bachelor degree course so study your course with interest so that it will be helpful for you in examination |
