You can apply for GATE exam only after completing your engineering degree or while appearing in final year of your degree course. You did not mentioned your stream so its difficult to tell you the books you should study. But i will suggest you to concentrate on your core subjects as this will help you to crack the exam. Also solve previous year papers so that you can check your preparation. |

Re: Reference books for GATE exam? I am studying B.Tech 1st year Hello dear, As you are studying in 1st year you are not eligible for GATE now. You can appear in GATE in the last year of your degree course or after passing out the B.Tech. You have not mentioned the stream of your B.Tech. Therefore, it is somewhat difficult to suggest you for the books. But, you can purchase Arihant Publication books. They are really helpful to crack entrance exams. You should also more concentrate on your prescribed syllabus of B.Tech because of almost questions will come only from your syllabus topics. You should also go for the previous year question papers. there you will know the question pattern of GATE. All the best........... |

Re: Reference books for GATE exam? I am studying B.Tech 1st year GATE eligibility criteria:- To give the GATE exam you need to have a degree in technology, engineering or architecture. Even final year students can apply for this exam. Its important to have minimum 55-60% marks at graduation level. Master degree holder with a degree in science, mathematics, computer science or statistics are also eligible to give this exam. There is no age bar for giving this exam and your GATE score will be valid for two years. At the most you can give this exam for three times. Go through the pdf attached to learn more about the reference books. |

I am studying B.Tech 1st year for preparation of GATE examination you should study the text book very carefully first. because from text book you will gain good knowledge in the subject and in GATE examination questions come from the basic part of the subject so good subject knowledge is very much required to clear the GATE examination. when you will think that you have idea in all topics included in the GATE syllabus then buy some books for GATE examination which contains Multiple choice question answers as well as some model questions paper which follow the standard of GATE examination and from where question may come in the examination. GATE by G K Publishers is very well known book for GATE examination preparation. they publish books for GATE examination for every popular stream of engineering. you have not mentioned your stream of engineering till if you are from electronics related stream and you will appear in GATE in electronics paper then you may buy the book for GATE examination by Conodia. in market there are so many good books for GATE examinations are available you may so many books from there. In GATE examination there is only mathematics part which come from first year. otherwise total technical part come from 2nd year to 4th year. you may start your preparation for GATE examination starting with mathematics from the 1st year. best of luck. |

Different Gate books come for different Branch. Dear you have not give information about your branch. so i am giving you name of some good publication House that publish some very good book for GATE. These are G.K. Publication R.K. kanodia for Aptitude R.S. Agrawal is best Book in my experience. Also made easy team books are good one. Remember Books mater to some extent but you have to do lots of practice to crack GATE. Its practice that count not the book that you prefer. Good luck..... |

I am studying B.Tech 1st year You are in Ist year of B.Tech this time you to concentrate about your study.for you information you will be eligible for GATE exam in final year of graduation. You have not mention you branch because books for all branches are different.for books you have to mention your branch. For your information in GATE exam mostly question are asked from your B.Tech syllabus so you have to study your subject books deeply.this will be beneficial for you according to your graduation or GATE. In your graduation you cover 90% GATE syllabus.so first you have to do preparation of your subjects. |
