Re: Can girls apply for NDA exam? Hi dear, No Girls Can't write NDA i.e National Defense Academy because NDA khadakwasla is full of guys barracks, flanks and its kind of guys Street. Even Girls are More Responsible after their Degree. But don't worry !! It doesn't mean that Girls can't join Indian Army,Navy or Air force. They can but Not this Time, Girls need to move more forward in academics point of view, They need to study more at least uptill Graduation Or any Degree for making herself Eligible for joining in any Armed Forces because CDSE i.e Combined defense Service Exam is One of the Exam in which Girls can write. Even If girls opt for Engineering File then UES i.e University Entry Scheme is an another Option to join Technical post in Armed Forces. Re: Can girls apply for NDA exam? Hi, I am sorry to say that girls are not eligible for the NDA exam. NDA stands for National Defence Service. This exam conducted by the union public service commission twice in a year. NDA has three wings Indian Army Navy Indian Air force ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The candidate should complete the 12th standard from recognized state board of india. The candidate no need to percentage of marks to eligible for this exam. The candidate need the PCM subjects for indian air force and navy exams. The candidate age limit should be between 16.5 to 19 years. There is no age relaxation for the other categories. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam. Girls are not eligible for this exam. But the candidate should be citizen of india. The candidate should be physically and medically fit for this exam. UPSC conducts NDA(National Defence Academy) exam two times a year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA. Only Male unmarried Indian candidate is eligible to apply for NDA having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years. Girls if interested to serve Defece Sector, can apply for OTA(Officer's Training Academy) through CDS(Combined Defence Service) entrance exam conducted by UPSC twicw every year. But even through CDS exam you cannot join Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy but you can join Officers Training Academy. It is in Chennai and it will give you 49 weeks training. For applying for it- -the candidate must be a citizen of India -The candidate must have completed graduation from a recognized university -The candidate must have completed 19 years of age and should not be more than 25 years of age -Girls candidate can also apply For SSCW(NCC) Entry you must have completed graduation with 50% marks and you must have 2 Years service in NCC Senior Division Army with minimum 'B' Grade in 'C' Certificate Exam. There is also engineer entry in OTA for girl candidates who have completed engineering degree. The candidate must have completed 20 years of age and should not be more than 27 years of age. Law graduate girls can also join Indian Army They must have graduated with LLB / LLM with a minimum of 55% marks and must be registered with Bar Council of India Law Graduate candidates must also have completed 20 years of age and should not be more than 27 years of age. All these options will lead you to 49 weeks training in Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. All these selections are made twice in an year and the training starts in April and October Post Graduate girls can also apply for Indian army but as far as NDA is concerned you are not eligible for it. |

Hey Pal , Sorry to say but i just want to tell you that you cannot apply for any of the NDA exams because you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria required for a candidate to appear in the NDA exam , which is conducted every year twice by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC). The Basic Eligibility Criteria You require to be able to appear in the exam are : * You must be an Indian Citizen. * You must be an unmarried male. * Your age must lie in between 16.5-19 years. * You must have passed 12th with PCM as your key subjects from any recognized college / school. * You should be physically & Mentally fit. So , Based on the above , you cannot appear in the exam as the exam is conducted only for unmarried males under the above specified age group.' Moreover , if you want to join Defense , then you can fulfill your dream through CDS entrance exam but for this you have to complete your graduation first. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

In order to be eligible for this exam, a candidate should be an unmarried male person. In addition one should have completed his 10+2 or appeared and one should be in the age group of 16 1/2 years to 19 years. So girls are not eligible to take NDA exam. Anyway still there are the ways for girls to enter into defense by appearing for CDSE (Combined Defense Services Examination). For this the minimum academic qualification that a candidate need to have is a graduation degree from a recognized university. Hope this will be the best way for girls |

But don't worry there are options for you to join defence forces.For that you have to first complete your gradation. Then you can apply for Common Defence Service Exam(CDSE) Minimum eligibility for CDSE is: Educational Qualification: 1.For Air Force Academy: Candidates must be a graduate with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects in 10+2. 2.For Naval Academy: Candidates must be a graduate in engineering. 3.For Indian Military Academy and Officer's Training Institue: Candidates must be a graduate in any field from a recognized university. Age Limit: 19 - 25 years Other than this if you complete you B.E/B.tech course then you get chance of direct Service Selection Board (SSB) for Indian Army and Indian Navy. But for Air force you have to appear in Air force common test (AFCT) for ground duty, flying branch and technical entry. Re: Can girls apply for NDA exam? I am really glad to hear that there are more and more female candidates who want to join the defence forces. However, unfortunately, there is no provision for female candidates to join the defence through the Nation Defence Academy(NDA). The minimum eligibility for the NDA is that a candidate must be an unmarried male between 16.5-19 years of age to eligible. But there is no reason to get dis heartened. You can still join the Defence forces after completion of your graduation through the Common Defence Service Examination(CDSE). By clearing the CDSE, you can join the Officer's Training Institute(OTA) and join the defence as an officer in the Short Service Commission(SSC). The CDSE is conducted by the UPSC every year. The minimum Eligibility for the CDSE is as follows: Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees are eligible. Educational Qualification: Graduate Degree of any field from a recognized University or equivalent. Students in the final year of the course can also apply. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal. (b) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status : candidate must be an unmarried male and have attained the age of 16 1/2 years and must not have attained the age 19 years on the 1st January or 1st of July of the year succeeding the year of examination. Candidates must not marry until they complete their full training. A candidate who marries subsequent to the date of his application, though successful will not be selected for training. Re: Can girls apply for NDA exam? Hi Girls are not eligible to apply for the NDA exam. The NDA exam is only conducted for the male candidates. Girls can only apply armed forces as an officer for which a candidate should be graduate first. So after graduation you can apply for the various armed forces through CDSE , SSC Technical and UES entry schemes. CDSE You can apply for the various armed forces after the completion of your graduation through CDSE entry scheme. Age limit To apply for the CDSE your age should be between 19 - 24 for IMA, 19 - 23 years for Air force and 19 - 22 years for the navy. SSC Technical You can apply for the various armed force after the completion of your graduation with at least 60% marks. AGE limit The age limit for the above entry scheme is between 19 to 28 years. UES You can also apply through University entry scheme. This entry scheme is only for the engineering candidates. Girls can apply through this entry scheme in final year of engineering. Age Limit The age limit for the above entry scheme is between 19 to 28 years. GOOD LUCK |

Girls are not eligible for nda exam. (ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course of Naval Academy:- 12,h Class pass of thel 0+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in 12″‘ Class under 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this Examination. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY (a) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1992 and not later than 1SI January, 1995 are eligible. (c) Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2010 as given in Appendix-V of Commission’s Notice for the Examination published in Employment news/Rozgar Samachar dated 20,h March, 2010. |

But dont worry you can entry through UES scheme or SSC for women after your engineering and graduate respectively. Prepare well for the exam and you can enter through this mode. Even Girls are More Responsible after their Degree. But don't worry !! It doesn't mean that Girls can't join Indian Army,Navy or Air force. They can but Not this Time, Girls need to move more forward in academics point of view, They need to study more at least uptill Graduation Or any Degree for making herself Eligible for joining in any Armed Forces because CDSE i.e Combined defense Service Exam is One of the Exam in which Girls can write. Even If girls opt for Engineering File then UES i.e University Entry Scheme is an another Option to join Technical post in Armed Forces. Re: Can girls apply for NDA exam? no girls are not eligible for NDA examination conducted by UPSC. the examination eligibility criterion written in the UPSC website is only unmarried Male candidate can apply for NDA(National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination). for the entire notification visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.in best wishes. |
