No Girls Can't write NDA i.e National Defense Academy because NDA khadakwasla is full of guys barracks, flanks and its kind of guys Street.

Even Girls are More Responsible after their Degree.

But don't worry !! It doesn't mean that Girls can't join Indian Army,Navy or Air force.

They can but Not this Time, Girls need to move more forward in academics point of view,

They need to study more at least uptill Graduation Or any Degree for making herself Eligible for joining in any Armed Forces because

CDSE i.e Combined defense Service Exam is One of the Exam in which Girls can write.

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2010 on 22nd August, 2010 for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings .

Girls are not eligible for nda exam.

Eligibility condition for NDA exam

Educational Qualifications:
(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: – 12th Class pass of 10+2 pattern of School Education .
(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course of Naval

Girls are not eligible to apply for the NDA exam. The NDA exam is only conducted for the male candidates. Girls can only apply armed forces as
an officer for which a candidate should be graduate first.

So after graduation you can apply for the various armed forces through
CDSE , SSC Technical and UES entry schemes.

CDSE
You can apply for the various armed forces after the completion of your
graduation through CDSE entry scheme.

Age limit
To apply for the CDSE your age should be between 19 - 24 for IMA,
19 - 23 years for Air force and 19 - 22 years for the navy.

SSC Technical
You can apply for the various armed force after the completion of your graduation with at least 60% marks.

AGE limit

I am really glad to hear that there are more and more female candidates who want to join the defence forces.

However, unfortunately, there is no provision for female candidates to join the defence through the Nation Defence Academy(NDA).

The minimum eligibility for the NDA is that a candidate must be an unmarried male between 16.5-19 years of age to eligible.

But there is no reason to get dis heartened.

You can still join the Defence forces after completion of your graduation through the Common Defence Service Examination(CDSE).

By clearing the CDSE, you can join the Officer's Training Institute(OTA) and join the defence as an officer in the Short Service Commission(SSC).

The CDSE is conducted by the UPSC every year.


The minimum Eligibility for the CDSE is as follows:

Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees are eligible.


Educational Qualification:

Graduate Degree of any field from a recognized University or equivalent.
Students in the final year of the course can also apply.

To apply for NDA examination, you have to passed your 12th examination because 12th examination is the minimum eligiblity to apply for NDA examination.

Sorry to say but i just want to tell you that you cannot apply for any of the NDA exams because you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria required for a candidate to appear in the NDA exam , which is conducted every year twice by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC).

The Basic Eligibility Criteria You require to be able to appear in the exam are :

* You must be an Indian Citizen.

* You must be an unmarried male.

* Your age must lie in between 16.5-19 years.

* You must have passed 12th with PCM as your key subjects from any recognized college / school.

* You should be physically & Mentally fit.

So , Based on the above , you cannot appear in the exam as the exam is conducted only for unmarried males under the above specified age group.'

Moreover , if you want to join Defense , then you can fulfill your dream through CDS entrance exam but for this you have to complete your graduation first.

However if you are really interested in joining Indian Defense then I suggest you to complete your graduation and then apply for CDS exam. It is also conducted twice in an year.
But even through CDS exam you cannot join Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy but you can join Officers Training Academy. It is in Chennai and it will give you 49 weeks training.

For applying for it-

-the candidate must be a citizen of India
-The candidate must have completed graduation from a recognized university
-The candidate must have completed 19 years of age and should not be more than 25 years of age
-Girls candidate can also apply

For SSCW(NCC) Entry you must have completed graduation with 50% marks and you must have 2 Years service in NCC Senior Division Army with minimum 'B' Grade in 'C' Certificate Exam.

There is also engineer entry in OTA for girl candidates who have completed engineering degree.
The candidate must have completed 20 years of age and should not be more than 27 years of age.

Law graduate girls can also join Indian Army
They must have graduated with LLB / LLM with a minimum of 55% marks and must be registered with Bar Council of India
Law Graduate candidates must also have completed 20 years of age and should not be more than 27 years of age.

All these options will lead you to 49 weeks training in Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. All these selections are made twice in an year and the training starts in April and October

Post Graduate girls can also apply for Indian army but as far as NDA is concerned you are not eligible for it.
