Re: MS or MTech in india

In india mostly given exam are GATE exam .
So if you wish to pursue higher studies in India, then it is best that you for M.Tech as there are many M.Tech colleges in India and their course is excellent, also you may get admission quite easily.
I will advice you to opt for m.tech,it should be much better for you.
Thanks.

hello madam
I am 2011 passed out student.I qualified my B.E in mechanical engineering.I would like go for my further studies i.e mastering but i m cofused between MS and M.Tech.
The reason for my cofusion is that i gone for the opinion of my staffs and friends and what they told is that M.tech in mechanical engineering is not so valuable. And one who goes for it, they mainly join as a lecturer or teaching staffs in colleges which i don't want to.

Could u please help me to get out of my cofusion and also suggest me how it can be helpful to me.
It will kind of u if u could reply to my mailid: [email protected]

Re: MS or MTech in india

If you want to take the course only in India, then better to choose M.Tech

If you interested to take the course abroad, then you can go for MS.

The reason why i am suggesting like this, the MS being offered by very limited institutes in India.

But when it come to M.Tech, Mechanical engineering is being offered some good number of institutes in India.

In addition getting admission to M.Tech in India is a bit easy when compared with MS

So if possible better to go for abroad and do MS

Re: MS or MTech in india

Both are good in their aspect. If any one want to go for a research area then he can do MS.
If he want to make it to corporate world then he may go for m.tech.
For this you have to sit for GATE exam.

Hi,

In India, I suggest you to take up M.Tech as M.Tech is more beneficial than MS in India.
In foreign countries, MS and M.tech are same. But in India, it is different.
If you want to do M.Tech in best colleges like IIT, then you need to write GATE exam and you need to score well.
If you score well, then you will get opportunity to do M.Tech in a very good colleges.

Thanks.

Hi,

I must inform you that in India the MS degree is being offered by a only a few top institutes. As per my knowledge, their syllabus is also not upto the world standards.
So if you wish to pursue higher studies in India, then it is best that you for M.Tech as there are many M.Tech colleges in India and their course is excellent, also you may get admission quite easily.

Re: MS or MTech in india

Hello,

MS is not so much popular in india, as very few colleges offers this degree. so you may go for M.Tech from any reputed colleges/universities through GATE and direct admission procedure.
If you are thinking for M.S, then you must go for abroad like USA, Canada, etc.
There are many five star colleges which offers this degree.

Good luck!!!

Hi friend

MS course is offered by foreign university and few Indian universities like BITS pilani, You should choose M. Tech for getting high probability of admission in India.

Admission is M.Tech course is done on the basis of GATE examination and few universities in india have their seperate test for that, like BITS , TIET patiala etc, Other follow GATE score.

you need to give GATE for M.Tech an GRE for MS.

good colleges in india are iit's , NIT's, and some very good private colleges.

Re: MS or MTech in india

It depends on your career objective.

The Master of Science is a specialized degree in a particular field such as finance, chemistry, accounting, engineering, etc.

But i would suggest you to go for the M.Tech ,it is completely atechnical line and will be more benificial in the futute if you have did B.Tech.

Hi
The admissions into the postgraduate programmes are made through various exams, primarily the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for Ph.D., M.Tech., and some MS courses.
You have to apear in GATE.
From given below site you find colleges for your M.Tech.

Re: MS or MTech in india

dear,
nit is far more better than vit ......
there are many aspects .....like vit will be bot costly for any one to go for m.tech.....
nit will be moderate for every one......you get a lot better placement in nits ....
although vit also have the same capabilities.......

when you compare them you will prefer nit over vit.........

best of luck
