The acronym for KAS is Karnataka Administrative Services.

KAS examination is equivalent to IAS of central government of India. Contendors who are selected in these service do administration of state. Through this examination, the contendors selected are generally known as Gazetted officers. These officers hold important posts in administration of Karnataka state.

Karnataka Public Service Commission(KPSC) conducts this KAS examination.

The selection procedure for the KAS examination is mentioned as below:-

* Written examination.

* Group Discussion(GD).

* Personal interview.

The eligibility criteria required for the KAS examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in any discipline from any accredited college or university.

* Age limit:- 21-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contendors.

* Nationality:- Indian.

* Final year contendors of graduation are also eligible for this KAS examination.

* No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC, and no attempts for SC/ST contendors.
