Details for KAS (Karnataka Administrative Services)

Eligibility

• Minimum Qualification should be Graduation passed out in any discipline.
• Minimum age should be 21 years.
• Your age should not be above 28 years.
• Minimum marks in Graduation should be 50%.

Exam Pattern

• Two Exams :- Preliminary and Mains.
• In Preliminary :- There will be 2 papers.
• In Mains :- There will be 8 papers.

PRELIMINARY :- Each paper will be of 200 Marks , Questions will be 100.


PAPER I

• National and International Current Affairs.
• Humanities,Arts,History.

PAPER II

• General Knowledge related to Karnataka State.
• Science & Technology,Environmental & Ecology,Mental Ability.

MAINS :- Total marks for this exam will be 2100.

• Compulsory Kannada - 150 Marks.
• Compulsory English - 150 Marks.
• General Studies I - 300 Marks.
• General Studies II - 300 Marks.
• Four Elective Paper - Each of 300 Marks.

The acronym for KAS is Karnataka Administrative Services.

KAS examination is equivalent to IAS of central government of India. Contendors who are selected in these service do administration of state. Through this examination, the contendors selected are generally known as Gazetted officers. These officers hold important posts in administration of Karnataka state.

Karnataka Public Service Commission(KPSC) conducts this KAS examination.

The selection procedure for the KAS examination is mentioned as below:-

* Written examination.

* Group Discussion(GD).

* Personal interview.
