These are the following branches only eligible for the Indian Engineering Services.

1) Civil Engineering
2) Mechanical Engineering
3) Electrical and Communication Engineering
4) Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The people graduated from other branches are not eligible for this Service.
These are the respective Services if you are graduated in above four of the above branches.

For Civil engineering Graduates :

(i) Indian Railway Service of Engineers
(ii) Indian Railway Stores Service
(iii) Central Engineering Service
(iv) Indian Defense Service of Engineers
(v) Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS)

Educational Qualifications required to apply for Indian Engineering Services (IES) exams is:

>> BE/BTECH pass in any stream

OR
>> Passed section A and Section B of Instution examinations of Institution of Engineers

Or
>> Graduate Membership Examination of Institute of electronics and Telecommunication Engineers


Age-
Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations


Next IES Exam will be held from 28th June 2013

1.) Electronics and Communication Engineering
2.) Electrical Engineering
3.) Civil Engineering
4.) Mechanical Engineering

If you are engineer from any stream, then you can write the exam but you have to choose between the above four options.

Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam is conducted by UPSC in every year.
The minimum academic qualification for IES exam is a degree in engineering from a recognize university except computer science and IT branch. For IES exam the eligible branch is Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical.

--IES Eligiblity -

--For Indian Economic Service- A Post-graduate degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics.
--For Indian Statistical Service - A Post-graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Statistics.
--But The IES Does Not conducts the Paper of CSE. S
--but can appear if u feel like covering the syllabus

Four branches are available as IES subjects.....

Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Electronics and communication....

but students from any stream can sit for IES, but they have to choose one of the
above stream as their subject....

for example, if an IT student wants to give the exam, he/she can do that, but he/she
has to choose any one the above stream (say electrical) as their subject and has to
prepare according to the chosen stream (here its electrical)...

you should be an civil/mechanical/electronics/electrical engineering student are eligible for all the posts in ies...where are for some posts candidates holding M.Sc degree in Wireless communication,electronics,radio physics and radio engineerings are eligible...
