IFS Exam Details:-

IFS stands for Indian Forest Service. This examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission once a year. To give this examination following eligibility criteria needs to be satisfied:-

1. Nationality:-

You need to be a citizen of India.

2. Minimum Educational Qualifications:-

You need to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. The degree needs to be attained in any one of the following subjects:- Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.

3. Age Limits:-
  • Minimum Age Limit:- 21 years
  • Maximum Age Limit:- 30 years

4. Upper Age Limit Relaxation:-
  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
  • OBC Candidates: 3 years
  • Defence Services Personnel: 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
  • PWD Candidates: 10 years

5. Number of attempts:-
  • General Category Candidates: 4 attempts
  • OBC Candidates: 7 attempts
  • SC/ST Candidates: No Restrictions

6. Selection Procedure:-

The selection procedure comprises of the following stages:-
  • Written Examination
  • Personality Test

7. Written Exam Pattern:-
  • Paper I:- General English (300 marks)
  • Paper II:- General Knowledge (300 marks)
  • Paper III-VI:- Any two selected optional subject (200 marks for each paper)
  • Personality Test:- 300 marks

8. List of Optional Subjects:-

i) Agriculture
ii) Agricultural Engineering
iii) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
iv) Botany
v) Chemistry
vi) Chemical Engineering
vii) Civil Engineering
viii) Forestry
ix) Geology
x) Mathematics
xi) Mechanical Engineering
xii) Physics
xiii) Statistics
xiv) Zoology

INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION
Minimum Educational Qualifications The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities.

Age Limits :MAXIMUM: 30 years
MINIMUM: 21 years

Dear Friend ,

* IFS stands for Indian Foreign Service.

* IFS Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year in two stages :

a) Preliminary Examination: It is of objective type, which is a qualifying
examination.

b) Main Examination: It consists of written examination and interview.

The Required Eligibility Criteria For IFS Exam are :

* You must be a citizen of India.

* Your age must lie in between 21-30 years. There is also a relaxation in upper age of 3 years for OBC Candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

* There are a maximum of 4 attempts for general cadidates , seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.


Note : The Preliminary Examination is held in May/June and the Main Examination in October/November.

UPSC carries out IFS exam for the recruitment ifs officers , the candidate has to write a written exam , after clearing the exam he has to attain the personal interview.

after all the formalities the candidate will be placed as a district conserver or principal conserver

they can also get placed as a forest officer.

the exam is conducted once in a year , generally in the month of july


ELIGIBILITY


> the candidate must be graduated in any of the science subject , animal husbandry and veterinary science , geology , mathematics or statistics, otherwise they should be engineer graduate

> candidate who have passed bachelors degree in agriculture or forestry can also apply

> the candidate must be from 21 yr - 30 yr on the year of examination

> only indians are eligible


PATTERN OF THE EXAM


> the pattern will be of objective and descriptive type

> the test comprise question on english and general knowledge in addition to some technical questions

> total number of question will be 1400






APPLICATION PROCEDURE


> To obtain the application the candidates can opt for both offline and online mode

> forms will be issued in the general post office in every district , the candidate can obtain it by paying the fees.

> after filling the form it should be sent to the office mentioned in the form.
