Eligibility criteria to write IFS Exam?
What is the eligibility criteria in order to write IFS ? Which basic degree we have to obtain ? How to prepare for IFS EXAM ?

INDIAN FOREST SERVICE UPSC carries out IFS exam for the recruitment ifs officers , the candidate has to write a written exam , after clearing the exam he has to attain the personal interview. after all the formalities the candidate will be placed as a district conserver or principal conserver they can also get placed as a forest officer. the exam is conducted once in a year , generally in the month of july ELIGIBILITY > the candidate must be graduated in any of the science subject , animal husbandry and veterinary science , geology , mathematics or statistics, otherwise they should be engineer graduate > candidate who have passed bachelors degree in agriculture or forestry can also apply > the candidate must be from 21 yr - 30 yr on the year of examination > only indians are eligible PATTERN OF THE EXAM > the pattern will be of objective and descriptive type > the test comprise question on english and general knowledge in addition to some technical questions > total number of question will be 1400 APPLICATION PROCEDURE > To obtain the application the candidates can opt for both offline and online mode > forms will be issued in the general post office in every district , the candidate can obtain it by paying the fees. > after filling the form it should be sent to the office mentioned in the form. * IFS stands for Indian Foreign Service. * IFS Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year in two stages : a) Preliminary Examination: It is of objective type, which is a qualifying examination. b) Main Examination: It consists of written examination and interview. The Required Eligibility Criteria For IFS Exam are : * You must be a citizen of India. * Your age must lie in between 21-30 years. There is also a relaxation in upper age of 3 years for OBC Candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. * There are a maximum of 4 attempts for general cadidates , seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. Note : The Preliminary Examination is held in May/June and the Main Examination in October/November. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query . Minimum Educational Qualifications The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities.
