Re: Procedure to give IPS Officer Examination There is no specific exam as IPS examination. IPS - INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC once every year. To be eligible for IPS Civil Service Exam, one must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The candidate should be Physical Fit. There is certain prescribed Physical requirement for IPS aspirants:- HEIGHT:- -General Male-165cm, Female-150cm -SC/ST male-160cm, Female-145cm CHEST:- -Male - 85cm, Female-79cm expendable to 5cm in both the cases. The selection is through three phases:- -CSAT - CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST -PRELIMINARY EXAM -CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM -PERSONAL INTERVIEW For further information you may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |

The minimum educational qualification required is to be a graduate. In order to appear for the IPS mains exam , you need to clear the CSAT i.e. civil services aptitude test conducted by the UPSC.
