Re: Is sikkim manipal university degree valid for IAS exam? Dear Sikkim Manipal University is recognized by the University Grants Commission and Govt of India. It is also Recognised by Distance Education Council (DEC). So, Degree from SMU is valid for all govt jobs. with all good wishes |

Re: Is sikkim manipal university degree valid for IAS exam? You don't need to worry about your eligibility for IAS Exam. Sikkim Manipal University is a recognized one. The candidates who have completed Graduation from this university are eligible to appear for public services exams like all UPSC exams. So, forget about this thing and plan yourself of how to crack IAS Exam. Before that have a glance over the required information regarding IAS Exam. There is no separate Entrance Exam like IAS Exam for the candidates to join IAS. But there is common written exam called civil services exam for the candidates through which the candidates can join all the defence services like Indian Administrative Service Indian Police Service Indian Revenue Service etc. UPSC wil conduct the following selection procedure to recruit the candidates into the following civil services CSAT Exam Civil Services Main Exam Interview The candidates who completed Graduation can take this exam. The candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation can also take this exam but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview The age criteria will be different for the candidates of different categories. 21-30 years of age for General category 21-33 years of age for OBC category 21-35 years of age for SC or ST category. As you are in the final year of your Graduation, decide upon optional subject first. Start preparation for this exam from a coaching institute. It would be better to crack this exam in short time. Sikkim Manipal University is recognised by UGC (University Grant Commission). It is allso recognised by DEC (Distance Education Council) and AIU (Association of Indian universities). Sikkim Manipal University is recognised University, so the degree for this Universty is valid for all government jobs. All the best................... |

Re: Is sikkim manipal university degree valid for IAS exam? Sir i have done ba from SMU through DE. I went to GNDU Amritsar for admission in MA. But they declined to get admission in MA. they also told only the persons can get admission who has done BA from IGNOU. |

Sikkim Manipal University is recognized by the following regulatory bodies: University Grant Commission [UGC] Distance Education Council [DEC] Association of Indian universities [AIU] but degrees are invalid in JAMMU AND KASHMIR in both sector and now govt. of india decided to declare same in all india. so dont go for addmition any more |
