 Nice to hear that you want to become a custom Officer. The Staff Selection Commission Conducts the examination every year through which you can become a custom officer. The Qualifications that you should have for this are : a) You must have completed your graduation in any discipline from any recognized college/university. b) You must have a minimum of 45% marks in graduation. c) Your age must be in between 21-30 years. d) Relaxation is age is also for Reserved Category Candidates as per Govt. Rules. e) You must be an Indian. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

- Should hold a pass in Form G as employee of the firm / company. - Should have engaged in Customs clearance work for three years. - Should possess assets of Rs.1 lakhs or Rs.50,000/- as certified by a scheduled bank. - Reliability of the applicant and soundness of financial status are very important criteria. - If there are too many applicants than the licenses that can be granted, the Commissioner has to select persons for licensing by seniority of holding G pass. If there are two persons of same seniority, the older person will be preferred [Regulation 8(3)]. Relaxations, which can be granted by the Commissioner: An applicant need to possess pass in Form G for one year only if permitted by the Commissioner for reasons to be recorded in writing. |

The customs and excise officer are recruited by the CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION conducted by UPSC.you have to first clear the main stage of upsc exam and then you have to give options keeping customs and excise services as your most preferred service.you wil be able to get into the services if your interview goes satisfactorily. To become a custom officer you need to write the UPSC exam and become a eligible person.You will get promoted and you can become a officer that you are wishing |

Respected Sir Just wanted to know about the look out circular conditions by custom in the behalf of short visitor, myself Manmohan Singh who is under this bound of LOC since last 2.5 years and due to this I am not able to go abroad as my relatives also live there. So I have heard that it last only for 2 years but now its been more than two years and whenever I have tried to go abroad they actually harass me. So Please if you could tell me the procedure for the removal of LOC and also the conditions about it and How can I come out from this trap? Please suggest Thanks Manmohan Singh |

To become a Customs Officer you will have to take the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by UPSC which recruit candidates for 27 different services including the Indian Customs & Central Excise Services. Bachelor’s degree in any stream obtained from a recognized university is the basic qualification required for appearing in CSE. Also the candidate should be between 21 to 30 years of age. Those selected for the Customs Service are trained in Chennai while training for the central Excise Service is done in one of the metropolitan cities. |
