If you want to become an IPS officer first you need to crack the civil service examination this exam is conducted by the UPSC once a year. ELIGIBILITY: Degree holders are eligible Age limit for this exam is 21 to 30 years Upper age relaxation for reserved candidates Candidate should be a citizen of india. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Preliminary exam Main exam Interview NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS: 4 times for general candidates 7 times for OBC candidates No limit for SC/ST candidates ALL THE BEST... |

But am giving some of information about the IPS officer details please read and you may be clarity after read this answer. all the best.... IPS - Indian Police Service Eligibility Criteria for IPS: Candidates must be an Indian.Candidates complete Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.Candidates age limit between 21 to 30 years for General Candidates age relaxation as per govt rules 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates,5 years age relaxation for SC/ST Candidates Number of Attempts :General Candidates : 4 Times,OBC Candidates : 7 Times SC/ST Candidates : No limit. Physical Requirements for IPS Examination :-  Height :- For Male candidate :- Your height should be 165 cm For Female candidate :- Your height shoul be 150cm Relaxation will applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates , Male :- 160cm / Female :- 145cm . Chest :- For Male candidates :- 84cm and in Expansion :- + 5cm For Female candidates :- 79 cm and in Expansion :- +5cm. IPS aspirants, first crack the Civil Examination ::::::::::More information about Civil Examination ::::::::::::::; Civil Examinations is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly ones for this examination some eligibility is there, if you satisfy that eligibility then you are eligible for civil examination Civil examination is conducted in 2 stages i.e. 1. Preliminary Examination 2. Mains Examination after successfully complete these two stages you are eligible for Personnel Interview Eligibility Criteria for Civil Examination >> Candidates must have a bachelor of degree in any stream from any recognized university, final year appeared students also eligible for this examination, there is no percentage required for this examination >> Candidates age should between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates,5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates, 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates,5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman >> Candidates should be a citizen of India For written examination limited attempts are there i.e. for general candidates 4 attempts for OBC candidates 7 attempts no limit for SC/ST candidates Physical Requirements for IPS

Re: whats the requirements for IPS exam? There is no specific exam as IPS Exam, to become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fiteness. Apart from this the candidate aspiring for IPS should have maintained a minimum physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT:- General Male-165cm and Female -150cm while SC/ST male - 160cm and Female-145cm CHEST:- Male - 85cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. Sorry to say that at that time you are not applicable IPS Exam .Because your age is now 17 years old.Also you are in 12th standard . But i have discussed the details of IPS Exam as per query . Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam. But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.
