Re: Is there any age limit for applying GATE exam? GATE eligibility criteria:- To give the GATE exam you need to have a degree in technology, engineering or architecture. Even final year students can apply for this exam. Its important to have minimum 55-60% marks at graduation level. Master degree holder with a degree in science, mathematics, computer science or statistics are also eligible to give this exam. There is no age bar for giving this exam and your GATE score will be valid for two years. At the most you can give this exam for three times. |

GATE stands for GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING is an exam conducted by Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institute of Technology for admission to M.Tech. courses in different branches of Engineering in IITs, NITs, BITS etc. The GATE score card is valid for two years. Basing on this card one can also get job in Public Sector Undertakings. THERE IS NO RESTRICTION TO UPPER AGE FOR APPLICATION TO GATE. The candidate will be eligible to apply for GATE if he is an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream of Engineering from a recognised University. Re: Is there any age limit for applying GATE exam? dear friend, GATE is an entrance exam for M.tech course.. Which is conducted by IIT's and IISC jointly.. Eligibility for GATE exam:- 1.The candidate must have complete the bachelor degree in the fields like- Engineering/Technology/Architecture or, 2.The candidate must have complete the master degree in the fields like- M.Sc/MBA/MCA.. 3.The candidate can also appear in GATE exam during the pre-final year or final year of graduation or post graduation.. 4.The validation of GATE score is 2 years. 5.No upper age limit. 6.No number of attempt restriction. as you are in final year of B.tech course then you are eligible to appear in GATE exam.. No there is not any age limit General details about GATE -it is conducted every year for taking admission in M.TECH. - you can apply in final year. - GATE score only valid for 1 year. - There is no limit in how many years to complete engineering. - there is no cut off in percentage to apply for the gate exam - there is no age limit for applying for gate exam . - though gate exam you get admission in IIT AND NIT COLLEGES AND SEVERAL OTHER COLLEGES . - to take admission in IIT OR NIT COLLEGES you need to score above 99 percentile . - to clear gate exam you should have good knowledge of your subjects . - join a gate forum for good preparation . From 2012 pre-final year student can not apply for the GATE EXAM ,only final year student can apply for it. All the best.. |

Candidate having BE/B.TECH/B.Sc can apply for the exam at any age as many times as possible with any percentage marks .Because the is no percentage and number of attempts limitation in the GATE exam notification .Even the pre-final year and final year students of BE/B.tech can apply for the exam .Through this exam candidate can join IITs ,NITs etc for M.Tech . So there is nothing to worry about the eligibility of the exam .As you are a B.tech student ,you can apply for the exam . Good luck |

It does not have any limit as such. The Eligibility criteria as per the official website is: Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible. Also, please not that there is no restriction on age, if you have the above qualifications as mentioned. Secondly, there is no limit on the number of times you apply for the course.
