 NET Stands for National Eligibility Test. The NET Examination is conducted by the University Grants Commission in the months of June and December for those who are seeking to get recruited for the posts of JRF and Lecturers. The Age Limit For The NET Examination is : * 18-28 years for the post of JRF. * There is no age limit for the post of lecturers. Educational Qualifications for NET : * you must have completed your post graduation with a minimum of 55% marks from any recognized university. Re: Maximum age limit to appear for NET exam? National Eligibility Test is the exam which is conducted for college lecturer job by the University Grants Commission. NET only covers central government colleges. For job in state govt colleges the candidates are required to appear for State Eligibility Test (SET). The NET entrance exam is conducted in June and December. Only post graduation degree holders are eligible to appear for it. The exam is conducted by University Grants Commission and only candidates who have completed post graduation with UGC affiliated college are eligible to appear for it. As to answer your question, there is no upper age limit if you are appearing for college lectureship. However NET is also conducted for Junior Research Fellowship. If JRF is what you are applying for then the age limit is 28 years with relaxation for reserve categories. Eligibility 1. You should be Indian citizen. 2. Post graduation degree in any discipline. 3. At least 55 percent marks. 4. SC/ST should score minimum of 50 percent marks. 5. The final year students are also eligible. 6. The NET subject should be related to your PG course. Age Limit 1. Age Limit for JRF is 28 years. 2. There is 3 years of relaxation for OBC. 3. SC/ST are also granted 5 years relaxation. 4. There is no upper age limit if the candidate is applying for college lectureship. |

NET Exam is being conducted by UGC (University Grants Commission). the age criteria is, There is no upper age limit at all required for the candidate for Lectureship. -But for JRF, one should be in the age group of 19-28 years. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of OBC and also for SC/ST category candidates.
