The full name of IPS is Indian Police Services. This exam comes under the civil services exam. Civil services IAS/IPS/IFS exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. This exam is conducted for the selection of candidates for the post of IAS, IPS, IFS. Eligibility Criteria : Nationality: In order to appear in Indian Police Service exam ,you must be the citizen of India. Age limits : Your age should be in between 21 to 3 years. There is Upper age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates. There is 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates. There is 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates. Education Qualification : For appearing in this exam you should have completed your Graduation in any stream from a recognized university. Final year Graduation course candidates can also apply for this exam. Number of Attempts : Four Attempts for General Category Candidates, Seven Attempts for OBC category. No Limit for SC/ST. Height and chest for IPS exam- Height:- For Male 165 cms Pahari Male(General also) & ST(not SC/OBC) -160 cms For Female 160 cms Pahari Female(General also) & ST(not SC/OBC) - 145 cms Chest:- For Males:- Minimum 84 cms and after expansion it should be 89 cms For Females:- Minimum 79 cms and after expansion it should be 84 cms  Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127.

Hi Guest, The height requirements for applying for the post of IPS or IFS are as follows: For men 165cms (General Candidates) and for SC/ST candidates 160cms For Women 150cms (General Candidates) and SC/ST candidates 145 cms Thank you, All the best. |

Re: What is the height requirement to become an IPS or IFS officer? The physical height for an IPS officer is:- for male 162cm(5ft 4inches) for general/OBC/SC category. for female 155cm(5ft 1inch) for general/OBC/SC category. and for ST male it is 162.5cm(5ft 3inches). for ST female 154cm(5ft). |

Physical Requirements: Eligibility: You should be Indian. You should be complete the Graduation from recognized University. There is no min percentage required for this exam. Final year candidates are eligible for this exam. Your age limit is between 21 to 30 years. Upper age relaxation is eligible for other categories. 3 years for the OBC 5 years for SC\ST 10 years for PH. Both male & female candidates are eligible for this exam. No of attempts for General category is 4 times. 7 times for OBC No limit of attempts for the SC\ST. Selection Process: Preliminary Exam Main Exam Interview All the best.......... |
