The requirement for Civil Service Exam is a graduation course. You are free to complete graduation by regular mode or distance mode. This is not an issue when applying for Civil Service Examination for IAS, IPS, IFS etc. Eligibility 1. You should of Indian Origin. 2. Must have graudation degree in any stream. 3. You age should be 21 to 30 years. 4. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 5. SC/ST are entitled for 5 years relaxation in upper age limit. Physical Requirements: Height Male: 165 cm (General) and 160 cm (ST)* Female: 150 cm (General) and 145 (ST)* This does not include SC and OBC. Chest: Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm Eye Sight: 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye No color blindness or night blindness Exam Pattern 1) Preliminary Exam 2) Main Exam Number of Attempts General - 4 OBC - 7 SC/ST - No restriction |

You will absolutely eligible for the civil service examination after completion of your graduation. The minimum educational requirement for appear in this examination is a graduation in any stream, in any mode, but from a recognized college. So you are eligible for this examination. This civil service examination is conducted by the union public service commission (UPSC) every years, through which one can apply in INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE & POLICE SERVICES (IAS\IPS) . This civil service examination has three stages to be clear-- 1. CSAT (CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST) 2. MAINS 3. INTERVIEW.. CSAT EXAM PATTERN-  OPTIONAL SUBJECTS IN CSAT--  EXAM pattern of MAINS--  AGE LIMIT- 21-30 years for the general candidates, 21-33 years for the OBC candidates, 21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates.. i.e.,,  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS--  Notification of MAINS exams--  thank you!! ~gamble~ |

Re: Can I appear for IPS exam after doing graduation from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Merrut is approved by UGC so any degree from this University whether it is through regular mode or distant mode, the candidate can appear for IPS exam. To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with good Physical and Mental health. Apart from this the aspiring candidate for IPS should have minimum physical requirement such as :- HEIGHT:- General Male-165cm and Female-150cm when SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm. CHEST:- Male-85cm and Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. So with the above mentioned eligibility criteria, you can appear for IPS Civil Service Exam after doing Graduation from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Merrut.
