Hi Friend............. 12th standard is not enough for IPS The minimum educational qualification for IPS is any bachelor of degree from any recognized university IPS Aspirants, first crack the Civil Examination Civil Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly ones Civil Examination is conducted for IAS/IPS by UPSC Required Eligibility Criteria for Civil Examination >> Candidates have bachelor of degree in any stream >> Final year appeared students also eligible for this examination >> There is no percentage required for this examination >> Candidates age should between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates, 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates, 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates >> Candidates should be a citizen of India Selection Procedure Preliminary Examination Mains Examination Personnel interview No.of ATtempts Max 4 for General candidates Max 7 for OBC candidates No restriction for SC/ST candidates |

To join IPS there is no requirement of any percentage of marks in any level of education, the minimum academic qualification is Graduation. To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer you have to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian Citizen . He should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. He should possess good Physical and Mental Fitness. In addition, the candidate aspiring for IPS should have maintained minimum physical requirement such as:- The height should be 165cm for General/OBC Male and 150cm for Female candidate while Sc/ST Male should be 160cm and Female-145cm. The Chest should be 84cm for Male and 79cm for Female candidate expandable to 5cm in both the cases. The selection is through three stages:- -CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam -Civil Service Main Exam -Personal Interview For more information you may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |

Re: How to join IPS exam? How much percentage is needed in 12th? Pass in 12th is not enough to join IPS. Graduation (in any discipline) is the basic qualification required. No specific mark percentages are required. Upper age limit for the applicant is 30 years. You can appear for the exam after completion of graduation and you should be at least 21 years old. |
