Information Regarding SCRA Entrance Examination. SCRA is stand for the Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA).. Nice to see your interest in the field of the SCRA entrance examination. The SCRA entrance examination is conducted by the UPSC once in every year in behalf of Ministry of Railway for the admission in the mechanical department of the Indian Railway. To appear in the SCRA entrance examination you need following criteria. Eligibility Criteria of SCRA Entrance Examination. --> The candidate must be pass 12th class with PCM stream from a recognize board. The 12th board exam appearing students can also apply. --> The age must be between 17 to 21 years at the time of examination. Upper age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candidates. These are the basic criteria for the SCRA entrance examination. if you satisfy the above mention eligibility criteria then you are eligible to apply for the SCRA entrance examination. This exam is conducted by Union Public Services Commission(U.P.S.C) to recruit candidates in Indian railway. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:- -- CANDIDATE MUST BE INDIAN CITIZEN. -- CANDIDATE MUST HAVE PASSED INTERMEDIATE EXAM WITH FIRST/SECOND CLASS FROM RECOGNIZED BOARD. -- CANDIDATE MUST HAVE STUDIED MATHEMATICS & AT LEAST ONE SUBJECT FORM PHYSICS/CHEMISTRY IN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL. -- MINIMUM AGE REQUIRED IS 17 YEARS TO APPEAR IN THE EXAM. -- A CANDIDATE MUST NOT ATTAIN THE AGE OF 21 YEARS. -- UPPER AGE LIMIT IS RELAXED FOR SC/ST , OBC CANDIDATES. -- SC/ST- 5 YEARS, OBC- 3 YEARS RELAXED UPPER AGE LIMIT. -- CANDIDATE MUST BE PHYSICALLY FIT. Academic qualification : -A candidate should have completed his 10+2 with Maths and Physics as the disciplines to be eligible for exam. The upper age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST and for OBC candidates. 5 year relaxation is applicable for SC, ST candidates. And upto 3 year relaxation is applicable for OBC candidates. But to apply for this examination, you have to passed in your Intermediate examination from a recognised university with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination. OR Graduates with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects may also apply fro SCRA examination. SCRA-Special Class Railway Apprentices. Eligibility: The candidates should have completed 21 years of age by 1st August and the minimum age for aspiring it is 17 years. The relaxation limits for SC/ST candidates is 5 years. For backward classes it is 3 years. For Ex-service men the limit is 5 years. Education qualification: The candidate must have passed +2 with (10 +2) pattern of school education with mathematics and either physics or chemistry with it. Important dates: Dates of Notification : 19.02.2011 Last date for receipt of application forms : 21.03.2011 Date of the SCRA exam 2011 : 24.07.2011. Thank you and all the best. |

Mathematics along with Physics and Chemistry should be amongst the subjects studied. Candidates who have completed first year of Graduation can also apply. Also you must have at least second class in the qualifying exam. |
