The minimum eligibility is that you should be a graduate from any stream and your age should be in between 18-30 years of age. Another important criteria is that you should be fluent in your tamil communication skills.

 The Acronym "VAO" stands for Village Administrative Officers. The VAO Exam is conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. The Qualifications Required For VAO Exam are : a) You must have passed 10th from any recognized board. b) You must have secured a minimum of 40% marks in 10th. c) Your age should lie in between 21-30 years. d) Relaxation upto 10 years is given in upper age for Reserved Category Candidates. e) You just have knowledge of Tamil Language. Seats Reservation : * 30% seats are reserved for women. * 5% seats are reserved for EX-Servicemen. * 3% seats are reserved for PWD. One notification is released for the SC/ST candidates and another one for the rest of the categories. Out of the total number of seats some seats are kept reserved. ~For Women: 30% of the seats ~For Ex-service men: 5% of the seats ~For Physically challenged people: 3% of the seats
Exam Pattern:- Selection procedure is solely based on the written exam. Other factors like district chosen by the candidate, reservation of vacancies of the district in question and other such things. The first paper is bilingual and you will get the option to answer in either Tamil or English. The second paper is optional where you will get the option to state your preferences in the application form itself. Questions for the exam will come from the following subjects: General Knowledge and General Tamil/General English. 150 marks have been allotted for each paper and you need to complete the whole paper in three hours. Minimum 90 marks needs to be obtained to qualify. Hope this helps

If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 18 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language. This exam will be for 200 questions, time will be available for 03 and maximum marks is 300.
