VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers which is conducted by TNPSC.

If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 18 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language.

This exam will be for 200 questions, time will be available for 03 and maximum marks is 300.

TNPSC VAO Exam Details:-

VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers and this exam is conducted by Tamilnadu Public Service Commission. One notification is released for the SC/ST candidates and another one for the rest of the categories.

Out of the total number of seats some seats are kept reserved.
~For Women: 30% of the seats
~For Ex-service men: 5% of the seats
~For Physically challenged people: 3% of the seats

• To sit for the exam you need to have an SSLC certificate. Even if you have higher qualifications this certificate is a must.
  
• The lower age limit is 21 years. For general category candidates the upper age limit is 30 years.
  
• For reserved category candidates there is age relaxation. The upper age limit is 40 years.
  
• You need to know Tamil language very fluently. If you do not know then a separate Tamil exam needs to be given and pass marks needs to be secured in it.

Exam Pattern:-

Selection procedure is solely based on the written exam. Other factors like district chosen by the candidate, reservation of vacancies of the district in question and other such things.

The first paper is bilingual and you will get the option to answer in either Tamil or English. The second paper is optional where you will get the option to state your preferences in the application form itself.

Questions for the exam will come from the following subjects: General Knowledge and General Tamil/General English. 150 marks have been allotted for each paper and you need to complete the whole paper in three hours. Minimum 90 marks needs to be obtained to qualify.
