Re: Reference books for SBI clerical exam?

SBI stands for State Bank of India, which is the leading public sector bank in India in public sector.

Every year SBI will come up with the notifications for the recruitment of Clerks and Probationary officers for SBI and also for its associate banks.

The selection procedure would involve
Written Exam
Interview

The written exam consists of questions from the following categories
Reasoning
Numerical Ability
General Awareness
General English
Computer Knowledge

One should have strong preparation towards these sections to get through the exam and to score good marks.

For Reasoning and Aptitude, I suggest you to prepare R.S.Agarwal which is the good book for all the candidates.

For General Awareness, you can prepare various magazines like
Pratiyogita Kiran
Mahendra Publications
YES publications etc.

In addition, you have to read the news papers and watch news channels and have to collect the important points for preparation.

For Computer knowledge and English, you can purchase any book which is available in the market and prepare.

Purchase other books for practice papers also and give mock tests and analyze your performance time to time.

Some of the books will be

SBI Clerk Exam Criteria:-

~In order to give the SBI Clerk Exam you need to pass successfully the board exam of class 12 with not less than 60 percent of marks. SC/ST students needs to get 55% of marks.

~A diploma degree is equivalent to an H.S. certificate. So if you have a regular one whose minimum duration is not less than two years then also you are eligible to give this exam.

~The minimum age limit for this exam is 18 years and upper age limit is 28 years.

~Age relaxation is there for the reserved category candidates. It is 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for PWD candidates.

~To get selected you need to go through the following selection procedures: Written exam and interview session. The final decision will be based on your overall performance in both the stages of selection.

~Areas of weightage: General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Marketing Aptitude/ Computer Knowledge.
