CBSE Class 12 English Core Exam - Download Previous Years Question Papers The English Core Paper of CBSE has time duration of 3 hours. The total marks for the same 100. There are three sections in the paper. The first section has two unseen passages and mote writing for 20 marks. The first unseen passage is a long one with 12 marks. The second one is a short passage with 8 marks. The second section is on advanced writing skills which carry 35 marks. In this section, the candidate is asked to create ads, posters, jingles, writing letters, etc. The final question is a composition based on verbal or visual input. The third section has questions from text books which carry 45 marks.
