Re: Eligibility criteria for writing the IES entrance exam? hi for giving the IES exam, you need to be having the certain eligibility you should belong to the any of the following branches- electrical engineering mechanical engineering civil engineering electronics and communication engineering you should be an engineer from any of the streams mentioned above, there is no specific percentage required for IES exam and your age should be in between 21-30 years of age. A relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and sc/st students respectively. The exam is condicted by the upsc every year and the forms are filled online on the website of the upsc. www.upsc.gov.in gud luck |

The acronym for IES is Indian Engineering Services. IES examination is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) every year. Sorry to say that you are not eligible for IES examination. The eligibility criteria required for the IES examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of B.E./B.Tech in any one of these following disciplines:- 1. Mechanical Engineering. 2. Electrical Engineering. 3. Civil Engineering. 4. Electronics and Communication Engineering. * Age limit:- 21-30 yrs for General contendors. 21-33 yrs for OBC contendors. 21-35 yrs for SC/ST contendors. * Final year contendors are also eligible. * No pending backlogs. The Union Public Service Commission conducts the IES Exam every year. The Eligibility Criteria For IES Exam are : a) You must have completed B.E./B.Tech in any of the following streams : * Civil Engineering * Mechanical Engineering * Electronics & Electrical Engineering * Electronics & Communication Engineering b) You should not have any pending backlogs. c) Candidates in final year of such streams are also eligible to apply for the exam. d) Your age should lie in between 21-30 years. e) Relaxation is also given to candidates belonging to Reserved Categories as mentioned below : For OBC Candidates : 3 years For SC/ST candidates : 5 years Since , you have completed B.E. in Information Science , so sorry to say but you are not eligible for the IES Exam. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. Though the eligible candidate with any stream of Engineering can apply for IES, the exam should be written either of any branch out of Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics & Telecommunication. ELIGIBILITY: You should complete the Graduation in Engineering from any recognized university. Engineering courses are Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronic and Management Final year pursuing candidates are eligible. Your age limit should be between 21 to 30 years. The upper age relaxation is applicable. 3 years age relaxation for OBC. 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST. 10 years for PH. Both male and female candidates are eligible. But candidate should be indian. No of attempts: 4 attempts required for General candidates. 7 attempts required for the obc. No limit for the sc/st.
