If you want to become I.E.S officer then you have to pass the B.TECH in any stream you want from the recognized university.

I.E.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.
Eligibility criteria:-
>pass the B.TECH from recognized university with minimum 50% marks.
> Age limit:-
For open category:-21-30year
For OBC category :- 21-33year
For ST/SC category:-21-37 year
> Number of attempts:-
For open category:- 4
For ST/SC category:-7
> Must be citizen of India.

Information Regarding IES Examination.

Indian Engineering Service (IES) examination is also known as the civil services examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in every year. This exam is conducted once in every year. If you are interested in the IES examination and want to appear in this examination then you need the following eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification = Degree in any one of the following branch of the engineering.
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering.
  • Electrical Engineering.
  • Civil Engineering.
  • Mechanical Engineering.
OR equivalent degree from a recognize University.
  • Msc degree equivalent with wireless communication, electronics, radio physics or radio engineering as a special subject.

Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candidates.

If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

Number of attempts for IES exam is

For general student it is 4.

And for OBC it is 7 times.

And for SC/ST it is 9 time

If you are from different departments then also you are eligible but you should take one of the above departments as exam.

Information About IES Examination :

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Services Examination and this examination is Conducted by UPSC, Every year, and to apply for this examination you have to complete your Engineering degree course from these given Disciplines :

But in Official websites it is mentioned that all the Engineering candidates are eligible for IES, But you have to choose any one of the Disciplines.

The Notification of this year IES Examination will be Published on 25/Feb/2012

Age limit(21-30) years.
Also,u should be graduate in following streams.

IES - INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE this examination is conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment of Engineers in various Govt. Dept. of India in the following branches of Engineering:-

ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION
ELECTRICAL
CIVIL
MECHANICAL

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National, should be a graduate engineer preferably from the above branches within the age group of 21 to 30 years of age which is relaxed for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years.

ELIGIBILITY:

You should complete the Graduation in Engineering from any recognized university.

Engineering courses are

Mechanical Engineering

Civil Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Electronic and Management

Final year pursuing candidates are eligible.

Your age limit should be between 21 to 30 years.

The upper age relaxation is applicable.

3 years age relaxation for OBC.

5 years age relaxation for SC/ST.

10 years for PH.

Both male and female candidates are eligible. But candidate should be indian.

No of attempts:

4 attempts required for General candidates.

7 attempts required for the obc.

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service, the entrance exam is conducted by UPSC every year for appointment of young enginers in the top technical post under various Central Govt. Dept.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

Though the eligible candidate with any stream of Engineering can apply for IES, the exam should be written either of any branch out of Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics & Telecommunication.

IES Means for Indian Engineering Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year . This year announcement will be released soon .

This examination is conducted for only engineering candidates and not for the degree and other candidates . If you are pursing or hold the engineering degree course then you can definitely eligible to apply for this examination .

Engineering Service examination is conducted every year for admission in the various branches and the branches are ::

YES, you can apply for the Indian Engineering Services exams.

for giving the IES exam, you need to be having the certain eligibility
you should belong to the any of the following branches-
electrical engineering
mechanical engineering
civil engineering
electronics and communication engineering
you should be an engineer from any of the streams mentioned above, there is no specific percentage required for IES exam and your age should be in between 21-30 years of age.
A relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and sc/st students respectively.
The exam is condicted by the upsc every year and the forms are filled online on the website of the upsc.
