Dear Friend,

yes you can easily give the NET or SET Exam if you have passed Masters Degree in Computer Management with 59.89% marks.

The University Grants Commission [UGC] conducts this exam twice every year first in the month of June and second in the month of December.

Those who are interested in the below mentioned posts are most likely to appear in the NET Exam :

* Junior Research Fellowship

* Lecture Ship

The Qualifications that you must have for the NET Exam are :

* you must have completed post graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university.

* The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in post graduation.

* Those candidates who are in the final year of post graduation can also appear in the exam.

* The Age Of The candidate becomes necessary only if he/she is applying for the post of JRF as there is no age limit for the post of Lectureship.

* The Age Limit for the post of JRF is 21-28 years.

* Relaxation of 5 years in upper age is given to SC/ST Candidates.

* Also , relaxation of 5% marks is given to SC/ST Candidates.

It is very unfortunate that you cananot give net/set because the degree Masters of Computer Management is not UGC approved degree but it is AICTE degree. Best option s you can apply to MCM Colleges only. Same case is with me. An RTI reveals this fact. Government should do something for the people who have one MCM

Since you have scored more than 55% marks in Master's Degree Course in Computer Management, you can definitely apply for National Eligibility Test as well as State Lectureship Eligibility Test conducted by University Grant Commission.
As far as future prospect of these tests are concerned, qualifying them will make you eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor/Lecturer in universities and Colleges of India. As per University Grant Commission, candidates who have not qualified these tests will not be considered eligible to apply for the position of Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Universities and Colleges anywhere in India. However, such compulsion is relaxed to a certain extent for candidates holding PhD qualification.
Now, the only difference between these two tests is that qualifying National Eligibility Test will enable you to apply to Universities and Colleges located anywhere in India whereas qualifying State Lectureship Eligibility Test will enable you to apply to universities and College located in the particular state from where you will appear for the test.
