Re: Required age criteria to join NDA? To join Navy you need to give NDA exam conducted by UPSC twice in a yeari.e. NDA-I and NDA-II. NDA has three wings: Indian army, Indian airforce, Indian navy. Educational Qualifications : (i) For Army wing of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. (ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination. Age criteria: Age limits is 16 1/2 years to 19 years. There is no relaxation for OBC and SC/ST candidates. Nationality:Citizen of india. Important note: Girls are not eligible for this exam, only unmarried male candidates are eligible. You must be physically fit. Selection procedure: Written test, SSB interview, Medical test. Naval Wing Following eligibility criteria needs to be satisfied to enter the Academy:- --You need to be a citizen of India. --This exam is only for the male candidates of India who are not married. Unfortunately girls are not allowed to give this exam. --The minimum educational qualification required is that you need to successfully pass the higher secondary examination or its equivalent of a recognized board. --You have the option to choose any subject combination at 10+2 level. It is of no vital importance here if you want to join Indian Military Academy. --If you want to join the Air Force or Naval wing then you should be a 12th pass out conducted by a recognized board and at the same time you should have physics and mathematics as their compulsory subject at 10+2 level. --Your age should be between 16.5 and 19 years. During this time period you are not allowed to get married. On doing so you will be asked to leave the academy. Written Examination, Intelligence/Personality Test and Medical Test by Service Examination Board are the hurdles you need to cross to get selected. Total 900 marks have been allotted for the exam. 300 marks is for Mathematics and 600 is for the second section called the General Ability Test. The exam is mainly an objective type test and you will get the option to answer the questions either in English or Hindi. The intelligence and personality section carries 900 marks approximately and it is basically conducted to know more to test your mental agility, flexibility and your interest about various issues. NDA stands for National Defence Academy and this examination is Conducted by UPSC twice in a year and to apply for this examination you have to complete your 12Th examination with Maths and Physics as a compulsory subjects. Those who are Interested in NDA Examination may apply for these wings of NDA as per your Interest and eligibility. To apply for Naval and Air Force Wings, you have to complete your 12Th examination with maths and Physics as a compulsory subjects. Those who have not study Maths and Physics in your 12th examination are Only eligible for Army wings of NDA. For this year NDA (I) 2012 Examination Notification was already Published and the last date of apply for this examination was 31/Jan/2012. To apply for this examination your age should between 16.5 to 19 Years and if you have not crossed the age of 19 years then you are eligible to apply for this year NDA (II) Examination. There is No upper age relaxation is applicable for any candidates in NDA. You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease. The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air-Force). Your chest should be well developed, fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms You should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses. Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism. Physical conditioning: ----------------------- You are advised to keep Yourself in good physical condition, by following given Routine : ~~ Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes ~~ Skipping ~~ Pushups and sit ups (minimum 20 each) ~~ Chin ups (minimum 08) ~~ Rope climbing - 3-4 metres. AGE LIMIT OF NDA: The applicant should have min age limit is 16.5 years. The applicant should have max age limit is 19 years. The upper age relaxation not required for this exam for other categories. NDA has three Wings, Army, Airforce, Navy...... Eligibility Criteria:: ->You complete the Intermediate from recognized Board with fair persentage. ->You should have a Citizen ship of India. Age Limit:: ->your minimum age should be 16.5 years. ->your maximum age should not exceed 19 years. Gender:: ->you should be Male. ->Girls are not eligible to NDA. The age required for NDA Exam is 16.5 to 19 years. Only unmarried male can apply for this examination. The educational qualification required for this exam is 10+2 pass from a recognised Board of education. If you want to join Navy or Air Force through this exam then you must ensure that you have studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths in 10+2. That means your age should be 15 years to attempt NDA exam.after the completion of your intermediate you can soonly apply to NDA when the notification is released. In the NDA examination you get the quetions on general knowledge and general awreness and the total topics you covered from your 1st class to intermediete.hence you have to prepare 8th,9th,10th, and inter maths,physics and chemistry. It is must that the candidate should have gone through Physics and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects in 12th class to be eligible to apply for Navy and Air Force wings. But, in order to apply for Army wing, candidates should have completed 12th class with any of the stream. Candidates who are pursuing or have appeared for final year of 12th class and waiting for the result can also apply and appear for this exam. But, they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview. The selection procedure will involve the following stages -Written Exam -Interview later on, the candidate has also to go with Medical test. As per required age criteria which you need to know, -One should possess an age between 16 1/2 years to 19 years to be eligible for this exam. All The Best. |
