 Dear friend, IPS stands for Indian Police Service. For become IPS, you will have to qualify Civil Services Exam that is commenced by UPSC every year. You can appear for it in next year as Online Applications for IPS Exam is over now. And, on 26 May 2013, Civil Services Exam will be commenced. As you have done BCA (Under graduation) with 60% marks, so you can apply for Civil Services Exam. But you must satisfy other Eligibility Criteria for IPS Exam i.e. Age Criteria: For General: 21 to 30 years For OBC: 21 to 33 years For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years IPS Aspirants will have to pass three stages to crack this exam: >> Preliminary Exam (CSAT Exam) >> Mains Exam >> Personal Interview No. of Attempts for IPS Exam: For General: 4 For OBC: 7 For SC/ST: No Restriction Physical Standards required in Civil Services Exam for IPS: Height: For Males: Minimum height is 165 cm, For Females: Minimum height is 150 cm. Other than General Category Candidates, minimum required height is 160 cm for Male and 145 cm for Female Candidates. Chest: For Males: Minimum 84 cm, and should be expandable up to 5 cm For Females: Minimum 79 cm, and should be expandable up to 5 cm Some of the good books for the preparation of IPS Exam are:

Minimum Qualification Candidate should be Graduate from recognized university. (no percentage is required just passing marks are enough) Number of Attempt General - 4 attempt OBC - 7 Attempt SC/ST - No limit on number of attempt Age Limit General - 21 to 30 yrs OBC - 21 to 33 yrs SC/ST - 21 to 35 yrs Defence Personnal - 21 to 33 yrs Ex serviceman - 21 to 35 yrs Physical Standard Candidate should be physically fit IPS PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT Height For Men : 165 cm(AROUND) For Women :150 cm(AROUND) OBC /SC/ST : Male - 160 cm and Female :145 cm Chest male candidates is ---84 (+ 5cm). female candidates---- 79cm(+ 5cm). Re: How to become an IPS officer after doing BCA with 60% marks You have adequate educational qualification to apply. Your age must be less than 30 years. In order to join as IPS Officer, you need to qualify the selection procedures conducted by UPSC. Selection will be done through preliminary and mains exam. So first of all you must submit application for preliminary exam through the web portal of UPSC. Those who can get through preliminary exam will be selected for mains. |
