For distinction the overall CGPA ,that's from first semester to eight semester total must be above 8.5 not individual CGPA .And if you had arrears in first year is okay but it must be cleared within the pass out year. And the third semester to eight semester percentage must be without any arrears. :) |

And also why they are calculating general papers from 1 st sem... bcs I got good gpa from 3rd sem(department papers).. if they calculate from 3rd sem... I will definitely get distinction with 8.78 cgpa (good rank also).\ please clear my doubt sir...please... |

Re: How much CGPA is required to get distinction in B.E? i am studying in B.E., 2nd year civil engg in anna univ. i have failed in one subject in my first semester, but i cleared it in the second semester itself. my doubt is that whether i am eligible for first class with distinction because some one told me that arrears in first year will not be taken in consideration for getting first class with distinction. please give your kind commands |
