Re: Is Computer Science Engineer eligible to give IES exam? Yes, Computer Science Engineer is eligible to give IES, in fact, B.Tech. Engineering Graduate of any stream can apply for IES but he or she has to write IES in any subject branch such as:- Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics and Telecommunication IES - Indian Engineering Service, the examination for which is conducted by UPSC once every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate, can apply for IES. Hai friend Sorry to say that computer science students are not eligible to appear for the IES exam.The IES exam is conducted by UPSC every year and the following engineering branch students are eligible to appear for the IES exam : 1.Electronics and Communication Engineering 2.Civil Engineering 3.Electrical and electronics Engineering 4.Mechanical engineering. Re: Is Computer Science Engineer eligible to give IES exam? Being a computer science engineer you surely can apply for it. Criteria for IES : The candidate should be a graduate from any recognized university with 60%. Age limit : Age should be within 21 to 30 years. |

If you have completed engineering dicipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam 1.Civil Engineering 2.Electrical Engineering 3.Mechanical engineering. 4.Electronics and Communication Engineering. The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate. The Notification was published in the month of January or February in Official website or employment news papers. Final year student also eligible for IES exam . If you are from different departments then also you are eligible but you should take one of the above departmenta as exam. So computer science department are eligible for IES exam. thanks |

Any graduate with a degree in engineering, be it any trade is eligiblle to sit for the examination, BUT, they will have to take another subject as the subject of choice as Computer Science is not recocgnized by the Organizing body. So, you will have to study any other core subject as well. |

To appear in the IES examination you need the Bachelor degree in the any one of the following branch. ->Electrical Engineering. ->Electronics & Communication Engineering. ->Civil Engineering. ->Mechanical Engineering. Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category. So, if you are a computer science student then you are not eligible for the IES examination but you are eligible for the IAS, IPS examination.
