Information Regarding IES Examination.

No, Computer Science and Information Technology branch are not eligible for the IES examination.

IES examination is conducted by the UPSC in every year. To appear in the IES examination you need the Bachelor degree in the any one of the following branch.
->Electrical Engineering.
->Electronics & Communication Engineering.
->Civil Engineering.
->Mechanical Engineering.

Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category.

Any engineer is eligible to give the IES examination.
Any graduate with a degree in engineering, be it any trade is eligiblle to sit for the examination, BUT, they will have to take another subject as the subject of choice as Computer Science is not recocgnized by the Organizing body.

So, you will have to study any other core subject as well.

IES exam is conducted by UPSC in onece time in year.

If you have completed engineering dicipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam
1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

The Notification was published in the month of January or February in Official website or employment news papers.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

If you are from different departments then also you are eligible but you should take one of the above departmenta as exam.

So computer science department are eligible for IES exam.

I am sorry to say you that CSE(Computer Science Engineering) candidates are not eligible for IES examination.Only the following candidates having the following degree are eligible for this respect. The streams are ....

1. Civil Engineering.
2. Mechanical Engineering.
3. Electrical Engineering.

The age limit is 21 to 30 for all candidates.General candidates can attempt only four times and others can attempt as long as they want.

It's true that the Engineering Service Exam does not contain any computer section and is conducted in only four disciplines of engineering which are:
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

However, if you want to appear for the exam, you can because an engineer in any discipline is considered eligible to apply for the exam.
The minimum eligible age is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.

The candidate should be a graduate from any recognized university with 60%.

Age limit :
Age should be within 21 to 30 years.

NO, After completing computer science engineering you are not eligible for I.E.S exam.

The student who pass engineering on following branch are eligible for I.E.S exam:-
1.Civil Engineering

3.Mechanical engineering.

Yes, Computer Science Engineer is eligible to give IES, in fact, B.Tech. Engineering Graduate of any stream can apply for IES but he or she has to write IES in any subject branch such as:- Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics and Telecommunication

IES - Indian Engineering Service, the examination for which is conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate, can apply for IES.
