NDA Eligibility Criteria: The examination of the NDA (National defence academy) is conducted by union public service commission-upsc twice in a year to recruits the candidates in Army, Navy & Air Force wings of National Defence Academy. The eligibility details of the UPSC NDA exam details given below 1. Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India. 2. Age: Candidates who are appearing for the NDA exam must be unmarried males. They must be atleast 16 1/2 years and not more than 19 years on January 1st or July 1st of the year subsequent to the year of the exam. Sex: only unmarried male candidates are eligible. 3. Educational Qualifications: (i)For Army wing of National Defence Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. (ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy: A candidate must have passed 10+2 educational level with physics and mathematics subjects. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th class under the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent can also apply. 4. Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit and medically according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination. |

Re: Required Qualifications for girl to join NDA? Dear user There is no such criteria. Girls can not give nda exam. It is only for male candidates. However you can apply for CDS(OTA). You can give this exam only when you have completed graduation or in the final year of graduation. So first complete graduation and then apply for CDS. Good luck |

NDA stands for National Defence Academy, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC two times every year for an entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA. Eligibility for NDA:- -The candidate must be an unmarried Indian Male. -Should have either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board. -Should be within the age of 16.5 to 19 years withy no upper age relaxation for any reserved category candidate. -Should have possessed good Physical and Mental Fitness. Girls as interested for Defence Services may join CDS(Combined Defence Services) after Graduation Degree within the age of 19 to 25 years. In near future Government may allow Girls candidate to join NDA which is now under consideration. |

Re: Required Qualifications for girl to join NDA? Dear There, NDA stands for National Defense Academy. UPSC conducts NDA examination twice every year in the months of April and August. NDA passed candidates are recruited in the Wings of Indian Defense. The Wings of Indian Defense are: a) Indian Army b) Indian Navy c) Indian Air Force The process of Selection: a) Written Test b) Interview c) Medical Test Candidate must qualify all stages of examination. Candidates are recruited on the basis of their rank in NDA examination merit list. The eligibility criteria candidate must fulfill are: 10+2 / equivalent from any recognized board. Pursuing in final year of 10+2/ equivalent are also eligible to apply. Candidate willing to join Indian Air force / Indian Navy must have Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects in 10+2/equivalent. Age must lie in between 16.5 to 19 years. No relaxation in upper age is granted to any category candidates. Citizenship Indian Sex Male Marital Status Unmarried. From the above it is clear that only male candidates are eligible to apply. To appear in Air Force/Navy Academy then you should complete 12th standard science stream (Physics and Mathematics). There is no minimum percentage of marks require for this exam Final year appearing students may also eligible for this exam. Gender: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam. Female candidates are not eligible. Age limit: Candidates should be between 16.5 years to 19 years. There is no age relaxation for this NDA exam.  Gender: Male: Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam. Female: Female candidates are not eligible for this exam. Physical Requirements for NDA: Army wings :- Acceptable height is 157.5 cms . Navy wings :- Acceptable height is 157 cms . Air force :- Acceptable height is 162.5 cms . From the last eligibility criteria you can see that only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the UPSC NDA examinations as per the rules and regulations of UPSC . So sorry to say that girls are not eligible for the NDA examinations. But do get depressed if you are interested or quite keen to join the defense there is still one entrance at bachelor's degree which will provide your opportunity to join defense if you clear the exam. The entrance exam is called Combined defense services .It is also conducted twice every year by the UPSC just like NDA . Minimum of bachelor's degree as academic qualification is required for this exam . The age limit is 19-25 years under different academies. Both male and female with unmarried marital status are eligible to apply for the exam. You must be physically and mentally fit. So first of all complete your bachelor's degree in any desired discipline then prepare for the exam right from second year of bachelor's degree and then give the exam. The NDA Exam is conducted for the selection of candidates in the following wings of Indian Defense : * Indian Army * Indian Navy * Indian Air Force The NDA-I Exam is conducted in the month of April whereas the NDA-II Exam is conducted in the month of August.  First of all i would like to tell you that there is no provision for Girls to appear in the NDA Examination as this examination is conducted only for male candidates. However , if you have such interest in joining the Defense Line , then you can do this through the Combined Defense Services Examination. The Combined Defense Services Examination is also conducted by the Union Public Service Commission two times in a year. The CDS-I Exam is conducted in the month of February and CDS-II Exam is conducted in the month of December. You can choose any from the listed below :- IAS, IFS, IPS, Railway jobs, SSC, NET /SET, IBPS , BANK PO EXAMS, apart from this you can choose MBA its a most popular course which attracting all the aspirants across the world . To apply for Air force and Navy wings :- The student must have studied Physics and Mathematics in their examination. To apply for Army wings :- Physics & Mathematics in 12th examination is not must. Syllabus of examination :- Mathematics and General ability The subjects for the NDA Entrance Exam 2012 will be as follows: Subject Code Duration Maximum Marks Mathematics 01 2 Hours 300 General Ability Test 02 2 Hours 600 There is Negative Marking. Your marital status should be single. 3. You should be a citizen of India. So if you fulfil the criteria, you are eligible for NDA. If you really want to join in Defense then you first complete your graduation, after which you can appear in CDS exam..
