IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Service Examination .IAS is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year .IAS recruitment is organized by Civil Service Exam .

The minimum educational qualification for IAS exam is graduation degree .Final year student are applicable for IAS Exam.

You are in B-Tech 1st year so you have enough time for preparation for IAS exam .But still you are not applicable for IAS exam .

Age criteria for IAS exam for general candidate is 21 to 30 years old.Age Relaxation for OBC candidate is 3 years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

The maximum no of attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

IAS exam is consist of 3 process - Preliminary Exam . Mains Exam and Personal Interview .

ELIGIBILITY for IAS:

*A candidate must have completed their graduation Degree in any Discipline (B.A, B.com, B.E ) with atlest 55% from recognise universities.

*Final year students are also applicable.



Age Limit:

*General category student:- 21-30 years.
*OBC relaxation in upper age +3 years.
*SC/ST relaxation in upper age +5 years.

IAS means Indian Administrative Services and is basically meant for those aspiring candidates who have strong dedication towards the country.

India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS officers are recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria :-

A.)Educational Qualification:-

The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC.

B.)Age Factor:-

1.> For general category :-

21-30 years and can attempt 4 times.

2.>For SC/ST :-

21-35 years ,and there is no limitation .

3.> For the OBC:-

21-33 years and can attempt 7 times.

Paper Pattern for IAS exam :-

1) General-Studies paper carries 150 marks

2) Optional paper carries 150 marks.

Instead of one compulsory paper of General Studies and one Optional paper, both the papers shall be compulsory.

IAS - Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam, conducted by UPSC every year after Graduation.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate, can apply for IAS, Civil Service Exam.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

Hi,

First of all, you should know that cracking IAS exam is not an easy task. It requires lot of dedication, regular study, focus, general awareness etc.

A planned and organised study for regular hours can only help.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year.

If you want to apply , you should fulfil these criteria --

You should be a graduate.

Your age should be between 21 years to 30 years.

It is good that you have come to a conclusion that you want to become IAS officer which is a great destination to enjoy your future career by serving the people.

In order to become IAS officer, one should have completed Graduation with any of the stream.

As you are in the first year of Engineering course, you have to wait for 3 more years in order to apply for civil services exam.

Here is the selection procedure to be placed in various civil services
CSAT Exam(Civil Services Aptitude Test)
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

In CSAT exam, the questions will be from the following categories
Numerical Ability
General Awareness
General English

But in civil services Main Exam, you have to choose one optional subject and the exam will be purely on that subject only.

Out of the list of optional subjects for Main Exam, the following will be good for you as you are from CSE background
Mathematics
Physics

You can also choose the other optional subjects as per your interest.

So, try to collect the syllabus for the optional subject that you have chosen and start preparation for civil services exam.

Try to be perfect in all the aspects of written exam by the time you complete your Engineering course and crack the exam.

You should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for the exam.
Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.
Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category.

Nice to see your interest in the Civil Services. While studying in the engineering course if you want to prepare for the IAS entrance examination then you can appear in the IAS entrance examination in the final year of the B.Tech course or after passing the B.Tech course. The details eligibility criteria for IAS examination is given below :

Eligibility Criteria for the Civil Services examination.
--> Pass graduation is any stream from a recognize University. Final semester B.Tech candidates can also appear in the IAS examination.
--> The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of examination. The upper age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category.

These are the basic eligibility criteria for the IAS examination. If you satisfy the above eligibility criteria then you are eligible to apply for the IAS entrance examination.

You can apply for the post of an IAS officer after the completion of your engineering as to become an IAS officer graduation is the basic requirement. To become an IAS officer you have to apply for the civil service examination and you can apply for that in your final years or after the completion of your engineering. Civil service examination is conducted by the UPSC in two levels. The first level is of preliminary examination and the other one is mains.


Education Qualification
A candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university if he/she is applying for the civil service examination.
Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the civil service examination.

Age Limit
For the civil service examination candidate age should be between 21 to 30 years. Relaxation in age will be given as per the govt. rules.

Way To become an IAS officer
The only way to become an IAS officer is hard work and thorough study.
For the help or how to study for the civil service examination you can join some coaching institutes. It would be better if you get coaching in Delhi. Some best coaching institutes in Delhi in which you can go for the preparation of your civil service examination is given below:
