Re: Am I eligible for CDS after giving 2nd year exam of B.Com My friend you can give the CDS test if you are a student of final year i.e. students who are appearing in final year can eligible for it.Remeber if you clear the test yougraduation will be complete at the time of joining and as you mentioned that you are a commerce student so u will have to go in the IMA field i.e. Indian military academy.One thing that you have to remember that your age is between 19-22year at the time of appearing of CDS test. CDS stands for Combined Defense Service, the examination is conducted by The UPSC twice in a year * CDS recruits candidates in the four wings of defense academy : a) Indian naval academy, b) Indian airforce academy, c)Indian military academy, d) Officer training academy. * The pattern of selection is mentioned below: a) Written test b) Interview c) Medical * The Eligibility criteria a candidate must fulfill to join CDS is mentioned below: The candidate must have a graduation degree in any stream with minimum qualifying marks from a recognized college / university. Appearing candidates in graduation are also eligible. Sex - Male / Female . Citizenship - Indian . Fitness - Medically and Physically fit . CDS put different age standards for recruiting in its four wings, the age eligibility is mentioned below: Naval Academy - 19 to 22 years, Airforce Academy - 19 to 23 years, Military Academy -19 to 24 years, Officers Training Academy - 19 to 25 years. There is no relaxation in upper age is granted to candidates belonging to any category. From the above eligibility mentioned you are currently not eligible for CDS but after getting admission in the 3rd part of graduation you will be eligible for the same. Thanks. |

For twice every year this exam is conducted and you will get to enter the following wings by giving this exam:- Indian Armed Forces, Army, Navy and Air Force. Depending upon the choices that you make and the performance you deliver in the written test and the personality test that soon follows after that you will get to receive training from any one of the following academies:-
Only unmarried male candidates can apply for the IMA, Naval and Air Force Academy. For the OTA it does not matters if the male candidate is married or unmarried. Female candidates can only apply for the OTA. Only unmarried female candidates can apply for this and the ones who are widowed of defense personnel who died in harness may or may not have children. Educational Qualifications:- I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA):- A degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Naval Academy: A degree in engineering or B.Sc degree with physics or mathematics. Air Force Academy: B.Sc degree with physics and maths or a B.Tech degree in any stream. Age Limits:-
Thus you can give the exam in the final year but in that case you will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination after the SSB interview for verification. Hope this helps :-> :-> |

CDS - Combined Defence Service, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for an entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy of CDS after Graduation Degree. As a candidate from Commerce stream, you can apply for CDS in the final year of B.Com. and you are only eligible to spply for Indian Military Academy and Officer's Training Academy of CDS. The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years for IMA and from 19 to 25 years for OTA with good Physical and Mental health, can apply for CDS.
