Re: Can MCA students write IES exam? Here is the complete information regarding IES Exam. IES stands for Indian Engineering Services Exam. This exam is being conducted once in a year by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). Through this exam, the candidates can be absorbed into the following Engineering Services of India. Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering As per eligibility, All the candidates who have completed Graduation in Engineering with any of the stream are eligible to apply for this Exam. The nationality of the candidate should be India. The candidates should possess an age between 21-30 years. You did not mention whether you have completed your B.Tech course or not. If you have done your Graduation other than B.Tech and then if you did MCA course, then you are not eligible to apply for this Exam. B.Tech qualification is mandatory for the candidates to give this Exam. So, I suggest you to apply for job opportunities in various IT companies like TCS INFOSYS ORACLE etc. on the basis of your MCA qualification. Wish you all the best. |

Eligibility criteria for IES: Eligible department for IES: 1. Civil Engineering, 2. Mechanical Engineering. 3. Electrical Engineering. 4. Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering. 5. Equivalent M.Sc Degree. Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India/ Nepal/ Bhutan... Age Limits: Candidate age must be lie between 21 - 30 years. 3 years upper age relaxation for OBC. 5 years upper age relaxation for SC/ST. 10 years upper age relaxation for PWD. Education qualification: Candidate must be completed Bachelor's degree (B.E/B.Tech ) from a recognized university. OR Equivalent M.SC degreee or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics, Radio Engineering. |

If you had qualification of M.Sc in Radio Physics or Electronics or Wireless Communication then you would have been able to apply for this exam. Mechanical engineering 2. Electrical engineering 3. Electronics engineering 4. Civil engineering 5.final year students can also apply. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with 1. Wireless Communications 2. Electronics 3. Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only. 2.Nationality: 1.a citizen of India 2.Subject of Nepal 3.subject of Bhutan AGE limit for IES: General: 21 years to 30 years. Because according to IES eligilibilty Criteria only B.tech Degree holder and Some specific M.Sc degree holder are allow to appear in this exam. The Union Public Service Commission conducts the IES Exam once every year. This Exam is conducted for those students who have completed Graduation in Engineering with any stream from any recognized college/university. The paper consists of two sections- the objective sections and the conventional papers. Questions will also come from the branch you have chosen.
