And if I have to go to OTA, can I go with commerce stream? What about B.Com as a graduation and then appearing for OTA? |

The basic eligibility criteria for the OTA post is to have a bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university with good percentile.Aslo it is must that the appearing aspirant's age must lie in between 19 years to 25 years to be completely eligible for this exam. |

Hello OTA stands for Officer's training Academy You must write CDS exam to get posted in OTA For getting posted in OTA you must pass CDS exam . OTA is a part of Defence so CDS is the OTA entrance. CDS stands for Combined defence services. A candidate must complete degree in any stream from a recognised college or University by the central government of India You must have atleast 55% marks in degree. It is mandatory to pass the CDS exam, then SSB test and medical test At the begining the salary will be given 21,000/- rupees a month and after that it will increase. To apply for the OTA that is Officers Training Academy you have to appear in the UPSC CDS exams: In CDS there are 4 wings for which exam is conducted and they are: >> IMA - Graduation Pass in any Stream >> OTA- Graduation Pass in any Stream >> AIRFORCE- Graduation Pass with Phy and Maths as subjects in class 12th or BE/BTECH >> NAVY - BE/BTECH AGE LIMITS- IMA- Between 19- 24 years OTA Between 19- 25 years NAVY - Between 19- 22 years AIR FORCE - Between 19- 23 years Only MALE candidates can apply all the wings FEMALE candidates are allowed to apply for the OTA wing only |

For this you have to qualify the C.D.S exam. C.D.S is Combine Defence Services. C.D.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year. ELIGIBILITY FOR C.D.S EXAM:- > Pass graduation with any stream from recognized University. > The age limit for O.T.A is 19-25 year. Dear Friend OTA stands for the Officer Training academy .This academy comes under the Combined defense services exam .Other than these there are three more academies for which CDS exam is conducted twice every year by the UPSC . But the candidate must have to satisfy other eligibility criteria as well for CDS Examination. The Combined Defense Services Examination provides the opportunity to join this wing along with the below mentioned wing : Indian Military Acadmey Naval Academy Air Force Academy The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Combined Defense services examination every year twice as CDS-I and CDS-II. The CDS-I Exam is conducted in the month of February whereas the CDS-II Exam is conducted in the month of September. Those who pass training from this academy will become an officer in Indian Army. You can join OTA in following ways: -Through CDS exam after Graduation. Age limit for this is 19 to 25 years. -Through Short Service Commission Technical after Graduation in Engineering. Age limit for this is 19 to 27 years. Re: Required Qualification and Age limit to apply for OTA? can i applied for OTA, I am Graduate in Arts also have NCC"C" With "B" grade. But in graduation marks are only 48.7 %. In recent upsc notice just mentioned that graduation required form a recognized university to apply for OTA, But at joinindianarmy.nic.in siteit is mentioned that 50 % marks needed for NCC candidates while applying for OTA.
