Hi dear, IAS Details IAS i.e Indian Administrative Services is a Reputed Government Post and Every year It is recruited through CSAT Exam i.e Civil Services Aptitude Test. CSAT Exam is conducted through Two modes, One is Preliminary Exam and Another Mode is Mains( 2nd stage of csat exam , only if a guy clears Preliminary Exam). Lets point out some Eligibility Criteria :- From Educational point of view you need to be any Graduate in any Desipline from a recognized University.Within that your Age must be in between 21 to 30 years of age. Therefore Bsc will work out for writing IAS Exam. Now as you said your sister is in 2nd year of Bsc, She's not Eligible for this year CSAT Exam because Final year students are only allowed to write the Exam. But she can apply for CSAT Exam Next year. And Notification Period has started from 19th of February for CSAT Prelims Exam 2011. & It will stays upto march 21 Exam Dates:- First Exam i.e Preliminary Exam is On 12th Of june 2011 and Final i.e Mains Exam is on 29th Of October. 2011. As this year Your sister is Not Eligible So, try out Next Year with Full preparations. IAS - Indian Administrative Service, to become an IAS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam by applying and appearing it conducted by UPSC every year. Eligibility of IAS Civil Service Exam:- -The candidate must be an Indian National -Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and up to 3 years for OBC candidate. Re: Eligibility criteria for IAS examination? educational qualification, candidate should have completed graduation or should have bachelors degree from a recognized university or institute, final year student can also apply for the exam, AGE LIMITS candidate should have attained the age of atleast 21 years to become eligible for the exam, age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years, upsc provides age relaxation to the category like OBC and SC/ST, age relaxation of 3 years is given to the OBC candidates. candidates belonging to OBC gets age relaxation of 3 years . age limits for the OBC candidates is 21 to 33 years SC/ST category gets age relaxation of 5 years. age limits for th SC/St candidates is 21 to 30 years. also the candidates who are govt. employees gets age relaxation of 5 years , so for them age limits is 21 to 35 years. good luck |

The eligibility criteria for this exam is as follows Academic qualification : -One should have completed graduation from a recognized university with any of the discipline. Age criteria : -One should be in the age group of 21-30 years. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit for the candidates of OBC and SC/ST. To become IAS officer first thing which you have to do is to fill civil service.Civil service exam consist of two phase: Phase I: Preliminery exam Phase II:written exam and interview. Only those students who clear preliminery exam will get called for written and interview exam .There is no optional subject in preliminery exam but in the main exam . Eligibility for IAS : Minimum education criteria is you should be Graduate. Final year can also apply. You should br between 21years to 30 yrs of age.There is some relaxation to SC/ST and OBC students of 5 and 3 years in upper age respectively . |

The minimum educational qualification required is to a graduate. Age limitation is between 21-30 years. However there are 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC category. Those in the final year of degree course can also appear in the preliminary Examination.Your age between 21 - 30 yrs. But,your sister is not Eligible for IAS examination. Preliminary( Objective choice) optional papers, general studies Mains(Subjective type) Optional papers, General Studies, Essay writing, English Interview Civil Services Exam, 2010 :- notification date :- 19.02.2011 last date for applying :- 21.03.2011 exam date :- 12.06.2011 Your general knowledge should be very good,your knowledge about the geographical area and many more thing relating to Indian economy and history. So, if Your Age is Between 21-30 years, Then You Are Eligible to Apply for IAS exams. But, Your Sister In Second Year of B.sc, Then I will Suggest You That Your Sister Are not Eligible for IAS examination. So, In this Year Your Sister Are Not eligible for This Exams, So, please apply for this exams Next year, Till then Keep Practice for This exams, So that You will be Able to Crack this exams In Next Year. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice). (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification.
