Age Limits :- Unmarried Male and Female and age should not be More than 20 years but for SC/ST it has been relaxed to 5 Years. Academic Qualifications :- 10+2 Class or Equivalent with Chemistry , Maths and Physics as Subjects. Equivalent Examination includes CBSE , ICSE , State Boards As you have Completed 12 and if your Subjects were PCM then you are Eligible for joining Merchant Navy as a Deck Cadets. More Information :- Selection is based on JEE Examination conducted by IIT a merit list is prepared after the written test and interview are completed and the Director General of Shipping has the authority to chose which of the 2 training programmes the candidate is best suited for (students can let their preference be known) Both the T.S. Chanakya and MERI institutions do help (under no Government obligations) in recruiting their graduates in suitable Indian Shipping Companies. thanks |

As your a commerce student you cannot so through exams like NDA and CDS but there are job opportunities for you in Indian Navy like you can go through SSB board.Its better that you go through NCC course which will benefit you in the Entrance exam like SSB board. You can even go through the Officer's Academy and other such exams.You can visit the official website to get all the information http://www.nausena-bharti.nic.in/ http://www.upsc.gov.in SSB is of fourteen year service but you can extend your service if you need to. all the best |

What is the eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy? my good friend coming in merchant navy means coming in hell, Don't go on salary what a seaman's (Deck officer's, marine engineers or crew) get's they gets only after when they get experience, and my friend's there r none of the company which takes fresher. U will get experience when u will get job ,and there r no jobs for freshers in merchant navy believe me as am facing same problem. and there r lots of harassment of senior which u have to bare. my best advised for you all to never think of merchant navy its a worst career no respect full of headache there is nothing about adventure here trust me if u will come here u will waste your life for nothing. i am a sailor one which gives positive reply they might be this or any related sight promoters BEWARE of them . |
