If you want to become Assistant professor , then you will have to qualify NET exam. As per UGC – University Grants Commission, candidates aspiring to become lecturer / professor in colleges should have qualified NET. NET – National eligibility Test. [B]Eligibility criteria for NET -[/B] A Post graduate candidate from a recognized university can aplly for this exam. There is no age limitation for NET. If you want to apply for Assistant professor post in private uiiversities, then the eligibility is- You should be a post graduate in the concerned subject. The experience holders will be preferred. Re: Eligibility for the post of assistant professor? According to UGC norms, NET qualified candidates are considered for the job position of Asst Professor. Ph.D holders can apply directly for the position. NET exam is conducted by UGC. The exam is conducted two times in a year, June and December. After qualifying the test, you can apply for the post through the web portal of the concerned institute. |
