The test assesses verbal and quantitative reasoning and analytical writing skills of graduate school applicants. Testers usually take the GRE on computers, but itis still offered on paper in areas of the world where computer-based testing is not available. In August 2011, the GRE revised General Test introduced new score scales. Test takers receive scores between 130-170 for both Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning. The Analytical Writing assessment is scored from 0 to 6. All the top universities around the world US UK Europe Singapore , Australia accept GRE scores. So appearing for GRE is a must for you .. infact if you score well you will not only get good universities but fat scholarships as well. a 1500 + score would mean a good 50% or above scholarship..( provided your acads are not totally poor) A glance at universities which demand GRE score:: MIT California institute of Technology Yale Carengie mellon Stanford Harvard Peking University University of Pennsylvania Cornell University Imperial College (London, UK) Tokyo University Cambridge University National University of Singapore Oxford University please Note:: In addition to GRE you will also need to present TOEFL score for showing your English language skills.
