Re: Detailed eligibility criteria for IES examination? IES stands for Indian Engineering Services. This Exam is being conducted every year by UPSC for the recruitment of candidates into below mentioned Engineering Services Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Here is the detailed eligibility criteria for this Exam. Academic Qualification : One should have completed Graduation in Engineering with any of the stream from a recognized university. There is no minimum percentage of marks required for the candidates in Engineering course, successful completion of Engineering course will be more than enough in making the candidate to be eligible for IES Exam. Age criteria : For General category : 21-30 years. For OBC category : 21-33 years For SC or ST category : 21-35 years For the candidates with Physical Disabilities : 21-40 years The nationality of the candidate should be India to apply for this Exam. For this academic year, the notification for IES has not been released yet. However here are the important dates for this Exam. Date of Commencement of notification : 08-02-2014 Last date to apply for the Exam : 10-03-2014 Date of IES Exam : 24-05-2014 If you possess the above mentioned criteria, I suggest you to apply for this Exam. The IES Exam is one of the examinations conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission. IES Eligibility Criteria Educational Qualifications : Degree in : • Electrical Engineering • Electronics & Communications Engineering • Civil Engineering • Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from recognized universities. • M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts. • Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible. Age Limits : Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on August 1st on year of conduct of examination ( upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs,OBCs and certain others ) How to Apply : UPSC applications are available for Rs. 20/- at notified post offices all over the country. Rs. 100/- (rupees one hundred only) through central Recruitment Fee Stamp only shall be attached. There is a fee exemption for SC/ST/Female/PH candidates. Please mark exam code as ENGG and not as IES. IES means Indian Economic service. Be careful in this aspect. Last date for application : Usually in the first week of March in year of conduct of examination (offline) Applications can be made online also. Eligibility for IES exam:- 1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field. 2.Candidate have to write the exam in the syllabus of any of these four streams - Electronics/Electrical/Civil/Mechanical 3.Final year candidate can also appear in IES exam. 4.Age should be in between 21-30 years. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years. 5.candidate must be a citizen of India.. These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill.. Re: Detailed eligibility criteria for IES examination? Dear pal, Union public service conducts Indian engineering service exam for admitting aspirants to the engineering services in India. To appear for the exam one must satisfy certain minimum qualification 1. The aspirant must have completed bachelor in engineering degree from a recognised university. Also masters degree holders in radio science, physics are also eligible. 2. The general category aspirant is eligible to appear upto a age of 30. The age relaxation is five years for st and sc. And it is three years for obc and mbc. The aspirant must appear within this age limit. 3. Moreover the aspirants are restricted in their number of attempts. Maximum of 4 attempt for general category, 7 for obc and mbc. There is no restriction for the sc and st aspirants. The exam will be conducted under the four basic disciplines civil engineering mechanical engineering electrical and telecommunication engineering electronics engineering |

Educational Qualifications: Candidate should be engineering graduate. Eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Service exam: Education qualification: Candidate should minimum graduation degree in Engineering from a Mechanical/Civil/Electric Stream. Age limit: Age should be between 21 to 30 years. Indian Engineering Service exam notification for this year: Issue of application form from 25th Feb 2012 to 24th March 2012. These are some braches who can give IES exam. The candidate's age must be within 21-30 years.(age relaxation- for SC/ST-5years and for OBC-3years) 2. The candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university. There are 3phases of selection- Preliminary, Main and Personal Interview. Although if the candidate is in final year of his studies then also he can apply.
