NET(National Eligibility Test): It is conducted by the UGC(University Grants commission) twice in a year in the month of hune and december. Eligibility: The candidate must be post graduated in any discipline with 55% marks(general category) 50% marks (reserved category). Age limit: General category:19-28 years for JRF(Junior Research Fellowship). However,relaxation is given to the reserved categories. For lectureship:There is no age limit for Lectureship. |

UGC NET stands for National Eligibility Test. NET Exam is conducted twice in a year by the UGC (University Grants Commission) in June and December. NET Exam is conducted for the post of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship. Age Limitation: No Age Limitation for Lectureship. For candidates belonging to Sc/St category, the maximum age limit is relaxed upto 5 years. However, candidates not opting for Junior Research Fellowship may take the test at any age as there is no age limit for the same. |

National Eligibility Test, conducted by University Grant Commission.The maximum age for this exam is 28 years.There is also relaxation of 5 years for the reserved category candidates. If you belong from the reserved category than you can apply in this exam maximum of 33 years age. |

I AM APPALLED THAT NOBODY HAS BEEN ABLE TO ANSWER THAT IF THE MAX AGE IS 35 FOR LECTURER AND IF THERE IS MAX AGE LIMIT FOR UGC NET AND A PERSON IS ALREADY 35 CLEARS NET WILL HE BE ABLE TO JOIN LECTURERSHIP OR NOT ANSWER THIS CLEARLY |

Re: What is the maximum age limit to appear for UGC NET exam? Hello friend, NET stands for National Eligibility Test . This exam is conducted by UGC (University Grants Commission). NET exam is conducted to select the candidates -for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) -and also for checking the candidates eligibility into Lectureship. You should have minimum 55% marks in your Post Graduation course in order to be eligible for this exam. There is some relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates. For SC/ST candidates it is necessary that they should have minimum 50% marks in their post graduation course. AGE LIMITS- There is no upper age limit required for the candidate for Lectureship. -But for JRF, Your age should be in between 19-28 years. -There is upto 3 years upper age relaxation for OBC candidates and 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates. As your age is exceeded the age limits . So, you are not eligible to appear in NET exam. good luck |
