The National Eligibility Test, conducted by University Grant Commission is taken by candidates for the following:

Lectureship

Junior Research Fellowship

Now, the candidate who opts for the Junior Research Fellowship needs to be within the maximum age limit of 28 years.
For candidates belonging to Sc/St category, the maximum age limit is relaxed upto 5 years.

However, candidates not opting for Junior Research Fellowship may take the test at any age as there is no age limit for the same.

In both the cases, candidate must hold a masters degree and have scored a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination conducted by a recognized university. The required percentage of marks is relaxed upto 5% for candidates belonging to Sc/St category.

Hello friend,
NET stands for National Eligibility Test . This exam is
conducted by UGC (University Grants Commission).
NET exam is conducted to select the candidates
-for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
-and also for checking the candidates eligibility into
Lectureship.
You should have minimum 55% marks in your Post
Graduation course in order to be eligible for this exam.
There is some relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates.
For SC/ST candidates it is necessary that they should
have minimum 50% marks in their post graduation course.
AGE LIMITS-
There is no upper age limit required for the candidate for
Lectureship.
-But for JRF, Your age should be in between 19-28 years.
-There is upto 3 years upper age relaxation for OBC
candidates and 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
As your age is exceeded the age limits . So, you are not
eligible to appear in NET exam.

NET Exam is conducted twice in a year by the UGC (University Grants Commission) in June and December.

NET Exam is conducted for the post of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship.

Age Limitation:

No Age Limitation for Lectureship.

For JRF: 19-28 years
