The eligibility conditions for LEET are: -You must have completed your Diploma with minimum 60% marks. -You must have completed your Diploma from a recognized Institute or any State Board of Technical Education. -Your age must be less than 28 years at the time of test. After qualifying the LEET entrance test,you will be eligible for taking admission in Engineering course.On the basis of your rank in the LEET test,you will be assigned College.The higher rank you will score,the better College,you will get. On the basis of LEET test,you will directly get admission in second year of Engineering.As there are very few Aeronautical Colleges in India,so you must have to score a good rank in the LEET test in order to get admission in reputed Aeronautical Engineering College. Re: Aeronautics after completion of diploma in mechanical engineering hi freind, you can do aeronautics after completion of diploma. But you have to write AIEEE exam. You can also apply for HAL,ISRO,DRDO exams, if you qualify means you will get a good job in aeronautics. |

There are many univ. and colleges which provide study of aronautics.Aronautics engineering is a best branch of engineering and deals with aronautics.After complete your degree in aronautics you can take job at HAL,ISRO,DRDO etc. PEC,chandigarh is top engineering college in INDIA. you can go at PEC through lateral entry scheme. It is fact that Aeronautical is a branch of MEchanical Engineering but Even after that it is considered as one of the Toughest branch of Engineering. Being an Average student I will never advice to opt for Aeronautical. Quote:
Nothing is different you have to appear for AIEEE as other +2 candidates do. If you able to clear your Diploma with atleast 50% aggregate including all semesters then you can appear for it. But remember NIT's and Institutes of NAtional and State Importance and IIIT's dont has no Lateral entry scheme. You can opt for anyother institutes except above one. |

Yes you can go for the Aeronautics or instrumentation engineering after completion of diploma in mechanical engineering,for this you need to appear for the AIEEE exam, Thereafter you will get admission directly in the 2nd year, After getting good rank in the AIEEE ,you will be allowed to go get admitted in various institute such as VIT,NIT etc....... All the best for your career. |

Well, basically there is 2 concepts in this regard. 1) Weather you can opt for Lateral entry to B.Tech/B.E. in Aeronautical it would be better option. 2) Since Aeronautical Engineering is a branch which is considered one of the Toughest Branch of Engineering, so Quality of Education is always an issue. Besides these high tech Labs, workshop, Intership are also helpful factors, and for getting these factors it is necessary to opt for good institute. So going through Entrance like- IITJEE, AIEEE is a good option. Unfortunately if you dont able to get some good institute then better go for B.Tech/B.E. Mechanical engineering, so that you can specialize in Aeronautical or Aerospace at your MAster level. It is one of the best options. Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

You get admission on Good and Famous institutes like- SRM University, VIT, Institute of Aeronautical Engineering etc. also without any Entrance. It is Quite shocking to heard this but it is True. Government has given the power/right to All Private recognised Institutes, that they can reserve some part of there Seat to provide admission according to there will (Direct). Which is famously known as "Management/NRI Quota". Under this quota institutes had 15% of seats reserved for provideing direct admission to Indian National or Foreign National or Nationals of Indian origin resideing in other country. But one of the Negative Aspect of this excellent oppurtunity is that it is also been misused, by providing admission by taking hefty Fees (Donation etc.). But all institutes are not of this kind, they have some limitations and rule and requirement also. Students who had score less in Entrance exams or in Qualifying exams are also provided admission through this quota. For great career prospect it is better to get through following Entrance:- AIEEE: the minimum eligibility criteria is that the candidate must have passed its Diploma engineering with at least 50% aggregate including all semesters.Since you are in your final year you can appear for AIEEE-2010 but you had missed the chance for this years.However,you can appear for it three consecutive years,so now you have only two attempts left.So, prepare well and then appear for it,because for getting into NIT's you have to score at least within 18,000 AIR if you want to persue B.tech (Aeronautical/Instrumrntation) from there. IITJEE: the minimum eligibility criteria for it is that the candidate must have passed Diploma engineering with at least 60% aggregate including all semesters.Since you are in your final year you can appear for IITJEE-2010 but you had missed the chance for this years.However,you can appear for it two consecutive years,so now you have only one attempts left.So, prepare well and then appear for it,because for getting into IIT's is not easier. Besides these Each State conducts its own entrace for Lateral Entry Scheme,So you can appear for them.For example- West Bengal conducts JELET for admission to 2nd year of B.tech. Best of Luck
