GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This exam is conducted by 7 IITs and IIsc in India for the admission of candidates in its M.Tech course. GATE exam is conducted for each branch in different subjects. You can appear in GATE exam in that subject which is your branch. As you have completed B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, so you can appear in GATE exam of Electronics and Communication subject. Now a days various Public Sector companies started to recruit candidates on the basis of GATE score. In order to apply for various PSUs you should have a valid GATE score. In this way GATE exam is useful for both type of candidates who are interested to pursue M.Tech course from top institutes IITs and IISc and this exam is also useful for the candidates who want to apply for Government jobs,i.e., in Public sector companies. Eligibility for GATE Exam:- 1)- You must have completed B.Tech/B.E. course in that particular stream with which you want to give GATE exam from a recognized university. 2)- You should have minimum 45% marks in B.Tech course. 3)- Final Year candidates can also apply for this exam. 4)- Those candidates who have completed Master's degree course in science/Mathematics/computers can also apply for GATE exam. So for cracking the GATE exam you need to work hard and you must take special preparation for this. There are many books which which can be followed for good preparation. For electronics and comm. branch you can follow all your semester books first. After completion of all these books you can solve the previous years question papers. you can purchase Khanna publications "GATE" book. |

Re: Books to be referred for GATE(ECE)? for GATE examination for Electronics and communication engineering students the best book and popular book is GATE by G.K Publishers. this year book by Conodia also reached to a great popularity. i think this two books are sufficient to be prepare for GATE examination. i will suggest first try to understand the concept of every subject from any good books. even follow various books for one subject. then when you will cover all the syllabus then practice MCQ questions from these books. then it will be more easy for you to crack the GATE examination. best wishes. |
