For going through the GATE examination it's always better that you prefer many books rather than a single book.You can prefer the core subjects books of standard authors like:-

Since the above mentioned are your subjects right from the first year hence its better that you follow the above mentioned standard books.

There are many books which which can be followed for good preparation. For electronics and comm. branch you can follow all your semester books first. After completion of all these books you can solve the previous years question papers. you can purchase Khanna publications "GATE" book.

There are many books available in the market on ECE discipline for GATE exam. But You need not to search for any special book for GATE preparation. Study the text Book that you have on the subject.
