Hi, Yes the pattern for UPSE has changed as the Prime Minister has approved the proposal for introduction of Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) in place of the existing Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination. The CSAT is expected to come into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011. It consist of two paper and each paper of Two hrs.. (Paper 1) (200 marks) consists of Current events. History Geography Indian Polity and governance Economic and social development and General science. (Paper II) (200 marks) Comprehension Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability |

CSAT i.e Civil Services Aptitude Test ( 200 marks ) :- It is objective type consisting of topics like general awareness , history , geography , Indian economy etc. 2.) Re: Is the IAS Exam pattern changed? ya, the ias examination pattern for the prelimnary examination is changed to csat(civil service aptitude test)by removing the optional paper from prelimnary exam.general studies remains same. and the main exam pattern also remains same. |

Re: Is the IAS Exam pattern changed? Hi, The pattern has changed. Now prelims(CSAT) will not contain any subject. It will comprise of Aptitude ans GK only. Also the pattern has not changed so much that even 12th students can give it. You need to first graduate,then only can apply. |

Re: Is the IAS Exam pattern changed? yeah the pattern of ias examination has been changed with effect from upsc 2011 civils exam that means the aspirants who are taking exam in 2011 are facing new pattern of the exam the previous pattern with a preliminary exam is replaced with a exam named csat(civil service aptitude test) this was appreciated many quarters of professionals.. all the best |
