Re: Is Maths required for genetic engineering? Genetic engineering or B.sc (microbiology). I'm actually confused for which course should I go for? I am a student with PCB and Biotechnology as an optional subjects. Some people confuse me to go for Drug pharmacy too. Which would be the best field for me as i'm an average student? |

Re: Is Maths required for genetic engineering? Yes, mathematics is required for joining genetic engineering. Genetic engineering is a different course in the engineering stream. Only few colleges offer this course. It mainly deals with human cells, anatomy, dna, cloning etc., There is a great future for genetic engineers as this stream is fully into research and development. So to join genetics or genetic engineering, it is good if you have mathematics subject in 12th class. |

Re: Is Maths required for genetic engineering? Not many institutes in the country offer genetic engineering course at the graduation level. At the graduation level candidates pursue Biotechnology as a specialisation. For admission to this course Physics, Chemistry and Maths should be amongst the subjects studied. You also have the option to join Institute of Genetic Engineering. This institute offers B.Sc course for which 12th pass outs from any area of specialisation are eligible to apply. |
